Gold exploit - even if you want to avoid it in your game, you can't

How to reproduce (doubling the gold value of a gem, without split and stack):

1. Have a stack of 2 gems
   
2. pick the stack up and put them into your item (not the split and stack bug!!) You have now an item with 2 gems in it.
   
3. find a new, better item (a step to explain it better), that will replace your old one
   
4. remove the gems from the old item by the vendor - it's stacked again with doubled value
   
5. put the same gems into your new item
   
6. repeat the steps with every new item you found, because the gems are good (i.e genisis T12)

My genisis gems are worth a few million gold by now, just by normal playing. I know about this bug and I can avoid selling them. But this is so easy, that even with other gems you probably duped already a lot. Just not those "high" values from reusing the same gem. Remember, doubling is a insane curve. You don't need to do this 100s time. Do it 5 times, and you already increased the value by 32x. And you will reuse good gems more than 5 times later...

Yeah, and this can became a really big problem if they do a massive ban, imagine getting banned because a glitch you dont even know.

I'm honest. I play offline. But I'm definitly not the only one with this problem. I will use those gems for a while and they will break the trillions. And I can't do anything about it.

It would be really stupid of them to ban people for a basic game mechanic they have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up on :/ should either remove the sell value for now or hotfix it fast. But guess we will see their true face now with all the bugs and stuff

Not really sure why you need a lot of gold in the first place. The most expensive thing I've found in the game(aside from the end-game mission unlocks) is the transmog system.

You need astronomical amounts of gold for end game. I don't see a way you get millions of gold needed for that, legit. Picking up gold in missions, and selling drops doesn't cut it.

The dup glitch allows me to not waste time managing inventory and selling items for gold, which is a good thing.

I'm getting so many rare drops in missions, that it would take me 15-20 minutes per floor just to pick up and loot at everything, and multiple inventories to grab it all.

Because they planed a leaderboard and matchmaking. So trading will be a thing for higher exploration mission. Buy better gear instead of farming 100 hours. Typical thing for an arpg with those features. If you are not intrested in this, you won't be affected.

This is now a problem, because it affects the future. Unless they roll new server with new chars for matchmaking and leaderboard (prob. the best thin by now).

There is an NPC you randomly run into who sells unique items, but the problem is, I'm seeing patterns of the same 3-4 unique items being sold. There is one unique 2h sword (Edgy) that's always on the list, so the vendor doesn't get their inventory from a greater pool of unique items, only 3-4 appear to be sold, and I've seen her 12x, so this is not RNG. It's statistically impossible for a vender to only have 4 items from a pool of 20+ after 12 visits. We'd be talking about 1 in many thousands odds here.

uhh this watch patched pretty sure lmao I noticed this like day 1, but it stopped doing it a long time ago.

easy fix aswell, just wipe everyones gold.

Yeah thanks, take all my gold, that I earned the legit way (didn't sold those gems yet).

With people complaining about the economy and people screeching for justice, the only fix is to just wipe everybodies gold.. its not like gold is hard to get regardless and I mean unless the glitch only works with certain types of items, i havent had it happen to me at all I havent seen more than 1 gem slotted in my gear at all since release day when ♥♥♥♥ was hella wonky Although I do only sell the gear and dont unsocket gems

Stacking gems is a feature introduced at release. I like bashing Wolcen too, but we shouldn't spread misinformation. There are a lot of other issues in alpha/beta, that made it into release. Gold dupe with gems can't be it.
