- Relative again, can't really fix everything in a game that receives updates, even Poe and D3 still tweaks skills once in a while.
-Good question, according to the devs, it'll begin in 2 months if the Second Dawn roadmap they laid out two months ago is still valid.
Keep in mind that their plan to do 4 months of fixing and and balancing was coupled with hiring more people, which didn't happen due to Covid-19 lockdown.
Given that the French governent is still incrementing their lockdown rules, it'll probably be a while before things are back to normal there.
Well, I don't think OP asks about tweaks and balancing issues since half of the skill tree is broken right now. Since you have so much hours in your profile, you know that it's broken like nodes not working as expected or some of them not working at all :) You theorycraft a great build, only to find out that passives not working on that path.
Of course there will be nerfs or bumps to skills as the game matures but first they need to work as intended.
I had this happen to me in Grim Dawn not that long ago when they updated sets/items and suddenly my max resistances on a tanky char went out the window =)
Yeah, no guarantees to be found on that one i'm afraid.
As said, they still have 2 months left on their plan, and given the current world situation i could see it dragging out till the end of the year.
The game as it stands now needs an absolute ton of both fixing, as RushC mentioned, and balancing. Assuming devs actually take balancing seriously, that could mean a lot of drastic changes.
fixing stuff: hard to say, nobody knows only the devs can answer that, but after months most people would think those would be sorted out already but......yeah....
more content: that would be nice and was promised seasons/new act but by how things are majority of people have abandoned the game and wont return and will be hard to get some new cash flow from newcomers as this game rep is very damaged by the the whole debacle since release. Imo i dont think this will get anything new but i will happily accept that i was wrong if they deliver a sizable new content update focused on endgame.
May - false promises and more Covid excuses
June - Another COVID excuse and 1/5 of the balance needed in the game.
July - A new excuse, 2/5 of the balance needed in the game, a new false promise for cash grab.
August - covid second wave of excuses :)
They actually already changed their name back to Solarfall Games like they used to be called when this game started as Umbra...they think we forgot in 5 years...
No, that's way too early. I'd say 2021, when the playerbase will drop to a few hundred of players and they'll realize they're not selling any more copies, the profit they made from selling this will not be enough to keep the servers alive and to pay all worker's salaries.
There's still a few percent chance, that they actually have a masterplan hidden from the audience and will just burst out with their genius to revive the game and all of a sudden make it playable and enjoyable, with balanced mechanics and a lot of content. Chronicles of Elyria type of scenario is more possible though, i.e. suddenly closing the project.
few hundred players? they have 700 players in the middle of a worldwide pandemic
They still have like 1,5k in the evenings and weekends last time i've checked. I thought about something like 300 players at a time max. I don't think it will drop to that level that fast, some people are still enjoying the game, but most of them will leave after a while because of no content.
