Sooo, pretty much my hard counter even on level if I'm not careful. And add to it a ton of demons etc and I had to run away all the time until my shield skill was back up.
If your having issues, just play a few really low level missions so that it scales back the difficulty on future Lieutenant and Ahriman battles.
And if it is intentional, it is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game design. The game at this point tells you: you should be doing this. It is not meant to be done later. And giving the player almost impossible level difference (unless you are minmaxer with op build this early) it is just a bad experience.
It does it to the Ahriman fight that's for sure, mind you it's been a while since i took on a Lieutenant as a low level. Most of my repeated characters have been boosted drastically in level within 30mins and wearing the best gear and skills off the bat.
To be fair your not expected to beat it straight way, it's supposed to be a long haul. Besides Lieutenant fights are optional. You have plenty of time to build up your character before jumping into those. I certainly wouldn't be attempting Lieutenant fights at Level 45.
