eeehhhhh....build it like a dodge build they will say (in :P::A::Y::TheD::A::Y::2:)
bow rage management sucks major ass (no natural generators available, you have to basic attack -which sucks ass- or take the 'you naturally regen rage instead of willpower' node -which is very poorly placed for bow builds)

if you take the rage regen node then you can hold talon shot down indefinitely as the rage cost is all front loaded... but you cant stop or manually explode them and it doesnt feel great to be rooted that long anyway

i do quite enjoy phantom blade spam with bow though, phantom blades are freecost (doesnt cost or generate either willpower or rage), each duplication maintains its own charge count (so you can slot 2 or 3 then just spam the ♥♥♥♥ out of them) and they benefit a ton from +projectiles (windborne can be a pain to aim but you aim it right and itll hit an enemy with all of them... or dont take windborne, take... i forget the name, the one that leaves an aoe trail and just blanket the screen with it)

i think if you want to use stings/wailing/gunslingers/deathgazers (the bow/pistol only skills) then you either need gear that will unlock skills, use the phantom blades approach (with rage regeneration and just use deathgazers occasionally) or you use a pistol+x because bow just sucks at using them imo

ive considered bow basic attack builds (theres some nodes to support it) but havent tried it out, it sounds like hell to level and i have little faith itll be any good

I was actually thinking of building a white arrow character now that 2 handers are better :
- Sentinel (Precise Strikes, Refined Technique)
- Ranger (Shoot to kill, Archion's Teachings, Bullseye, deadly aim, Swiftness, Swift death, safe from afar, persistence hunting, overwhelming barrage)
- White Arrow (Wintry Hail, Hungry Stalactite, Ice Shal Wake, Frostbite, Acute Tracking)
- Soldier (Heavy Blows, Zealous Might)
- Assassin (Merciless Lethality, Slipping Shadow)
- Alastor (Pulse Control, Shock Invasion, Intravneous Neural Cord, Cautious Effort, Condensator, Static Transferal)
- Warmonger (Unleashed Power, feast for the crows, Tearer of Flesh)
- Child of Fury (Furious Appetite, Frenzied Blows, Flurrying Flames)

Skills: Bow shots, wailing Arrows, Phamtom Blades, Duskshroud

But I don't know if they also adapted the tree to support 2handers like bows, especially the white arrow nodes... I'm afraid it would suck like it sucked at release compared to the builds with aiments everywhere. They were all similar it was ridiculous...

The minute you get gear that gives you the skill mods, you can play bow only effectively. Before then, just use a pistol and reserve some talent points to get the 2H boosting nodes when you get the above. Or just play something else first until the required leggos drop.

I don't know the game so I don't even understand what I'd do with "skill mod" nore what I could put in it :)
But if Bows are still not viable by themselves, I doubt I'd try that game again.

I'm talking about gear that has a mod which allows you to use a skill regardless of your weapon choice. If you cant manage to get past the story mode to where they drop... maybe choose a less difficult game?

My character finished the campaign at the time so he's level 40 I guess (did not even login so far).
And what skill should I use if I get that free slot?

I wish a Jedi knight of the build creation could help :D

There isn't a "best" skill, but I would recommend a skill that uses willpower so that it returns rage to you, allowing you to spam more bow skills. If you have not tried every skill you own, you really should to find one you like. Barring that, there are DOZENS of bow builds to find with a quick google search.

All of them do not really rely on thebow itself cause 2 handers sucked at the time.
I'm looking for something directly related to the bow. People have a bow on their build but on bosses they use the red balls... does not look really bow to me.

White arrow build could be possible now you think?

Basic-attack build with block/passive dodge for defense. Stack around 200 points into agility and then stack the rest on Ferocity.

Get the projectile bounce from White Arrow, bonus basic attack damage nodes from Arms Master, and block/health/shield regen dodge from Siege Breaker. These are your priority nodes. After that, go to Exorcist and get the node that reduces damage you take after a couple seconds pass. Next is the +1 projectile node from Warmonger, as it only reduces -10% projectile damage compared to the -30% projectile damage from Ranger.

Do note, however, that this node will deactivate if your attack speed creeps up too high. This is why you want to invest just enough agility to keep attack speed down to -0.01 or below and then pump the rest to Ferocity for crits.

The rest of your passive points should be spent on passive dodge and block nodes. Passive dodge will keep you alive up to 80% of the time, but the block/damage reduction nodes will prevent you from getting one-hit KOed from the 20% chance that you do get hit. Only when you're tanky enough should you go for projectile or critical nodes.

For skills, use Evasion for escape/dropping decoys and Dusk Shroud to escape/drop threat. Slot one skill for Avenger Autoturret to spend your rage on, followed by three duplicated Phantom Blades that you can spam out for free. You can also trade one duplicated Phantom Blade for Slayer's Flurry, which will come in handy against enemies that drop projectile-blocking domes.
