So I'm now level... 40

I bought this game at release, but because there was a lot of bugs I asked for my money back.

3 days ago i just bought it to play it again because i saw that it was doing well. and..... i was level 24 then i leveled up to 30 i think, I just started the second chapter, left it there for today continue....

And now i'm lvl 40 with 3 unique sets, not at the same chapter as i left it, and there's a dragon in the city and i have a.... city to maintain?

What the ♥♥♥♥ is this?

Do i have to create a new character or i can select chapters?

they just need to give up on this game and go back to flipping burgers in france (they are french which kind of explains their corruption within their discord around launch. i remember the mass bans they did to anyone in discord who even made a comment about how bad the game was and how unstable it was).

Characters all got set to 40 for the new patch. Read about it in the patch notes.

Ok, but why i'm at the last chapter instead of when i left it that was at the start of the chapter 2?

bah never mind, i tried to create a new character to follow the story, but i forget how slow your character is without all the stats i had on my build. i have uninstalled the game, going to play last epoch

Good choice. I am giving up on this patch too since I keep getting DC'd and can't finish runs.

Wolcen had a very great idea and project but with the years this game have just gone downhill you are not the only one who want their money back for that game

Anyone above 40 got reset to 40 and had their attributes and passives refunded, everyone below 40 got their attributes and passives refunded which need to be redistributed. No one got bumped up to 40. If your 40 and in act 4 that's because you where 40 or higher and finished act III.

I'm legacy, i was level 30 at chapter 2, literally the last custecene i saw was when i was with velara and our father got something on his eye then the demon flesh appeared and guide us, and "arrange" a meeting, i left before that "meeting"

So yeah you are talking ♥♥♥♥, you can check my achievements in my steam profile if you want to, and you will see that i completed the chapter 1 the 13th of this month, and i didn't complete the chapter 2 or chapter 3.

I really don't get how the devs thought "hey let's reset them to level 40, every hardcore player still playing our games will not be disgusted they wasted 100's of hours for nothing, and will not leave, because we will give them free stuff we give to everyone."

The only grinding as far as I'm aware that gets reset is Stormfall and Bloodtrails, in which you do get items back from a chest besides the stash. They get reseted because of how act 4 is just Stormfall redesigned with the Ahriman system. The way the skills and passives work has been reworked so you just get your points refunded.

And people claiming they've been bumped up are full of ♥♥♥♥, you don't get bumped up to 40, you get bumped down to 40 which I don't know why seeing as they are refunding all the attribute and passive points. None of my under 40's got bumped up, online or offline while my level 65 got bumped down to 40.

But yeah Act 4 is just a redesigned Stormfall with the Ahriman system and a few extra cutscenes,

Dude you aren't legacy, i can download the game again and show you a photo of my character with my steam achievements that are public, or i can simple put you the quote of the faq of the patch because you clearly haven't read it:

"What character types have been converted?

- Any Standard or Bloodtrail character (Online or Offline) that is over level 45 or has completed Chapter III.
- Any Standard or Bloodtrail character (Online or Offline) that is under level 45 and has not completed Chapter III.
- All Legacy characters (Online or Offline) of any level and/or quest progress."

Now come and tell me again that i'm full of ♥♥♥♥.

The November 2022 news post said only players at least level 45 or completed Chapter 3 would be reset to level 40.

But it seems the developers messed up here and made some characters who were below level 45 or not yet completed Chapter 3, into level 40 and boosted to Chapter 4.
