Game Not Downloading Properly?
Decided to download this and test it out at work tonight (hehe). Download finished really fast and now, at work, hitting Play to launch Wolcen causes an error message:
"Failed to Start Game: Missing Executable."

Uninstalled & reinstalled, figuring maybe it didn't download properly over the wifi at home. However I notice the game files only take up 151mb of space, and there's an extreme shortage of files in the steamapps folder... After downloading the game again, I only have a single folder in the Wolcen folder under Steamapps->Common->Wolcen.

File name:_CommonRedist

And this file only contains two (seemingly minor) files within that. I'm just not sure if I did something wrong or if it's on Steam's end or if it's on the dev side. Thought I'd throw this out so it can get looked at if anyone else has this issue.

TL;DR- Launching Wolcen gives "Failed to Start Game: Missing Executable" error, only have 151mb of files after downloading the game as of 00:00:00 4/11/16, seems like there should be more files.

Maybe you could try deleting the 'downloading' folder which should be in Steam\steamapps\. Close Steam and try to delete it...? Just an idea though I'm not 100% sure it'll work as I've never had the problem myself.

I have started a clean download after the update,same issue :/

Maybe antivirus is interfering with it? Preventing the game from downloading all files. Another thing that comes to mind is bad sectors on the hard drive - you could check SMART info just in case.

Did you try uninstalling the game from within Steam, deleting the entire Wolcen folder, deleting the downloading folder in the steamapps folder, restarting Steam and downloading it again? In that order.

Do you know exactly which files are not being downloaded and/or are having problems?

Also, what OS you using?

Sorry I kinda hijacked this thread, I have that folder. But it's all sitting in downloads, Steam hasn't created a Wolcen folder yet. It went to 4.8/4.8 but that's where it stays.

No idea which files are missing, if any

Well that's weird dude I'm kind of out of ideas for the moment. I'd contact Steam support.

Well looks to me like it only needs to download around 1MB. No clue why. Are you able to look around in the downloading folder located in steamapps for clues? Maybe you can open some files. Maybe there's also a download log somewhere in the Steam folder.

Yeah I found a Steam download log, apparently issues unpacking a bad sector due to a corrupt download, but after 8 restarted downloads this is a bit ridiculous. Will try and mail log to devs or whoever :/

Hope you get it fixed man. I think Steam support would be a better place to get this fixed as it seems to be a Steam problem.

If you cna, try to install Wolcen on another partition of your hard drive:/
I have never seen that bug before, it siq uite weird..

Yeah even tried onto a different drive entirely, same thing. Not happening with the other downloads :(

I can launch the game directly from the donwloading folder though.
