best method for mages to recover Willpower?

i know i could switch to a x/Catalyst and use a Rage dump skill, but, i wanna use a Staff with all mage abilities. so far, the "best" way is Willpower Potions + left-clicks.

also, does attack damage effect spells? i know it works on left-clicks, but i'm not 100% sure it works on spells.

There's a skill that gives Willpower on Hit.

I use infinity blades with certain perks usually inside of the healing aoe spell i can't think of the name right now with damage and dfence perks

It uses more willpower than what you get back.

that only works on staff attacks as far as i know if we're talking about the same node.

Equip a catalyst instead, equip a one-handed weapon and a skill that uses rage to burn the rage back to willpower

haha yeah i use infinity blades which is very conservative in willpower use... never have any issue besides bosses... when dealing with bosses i just use the lame default attack to get back willpower ~5 hits to full willpower... ive tried catalysts but i cant seem to make that work better...

I'm playing a frost mage and simply use both arctic spear and basic attacks at the same time after freezing the enemy in place.

Seems a 'mage' build is a willpower build.

Hit something, poison/burn/freeze it, and then wait for willpower while It dies.

At least a pure; a gun and spell combo feels far more fluid.

The summons claim to generate willpower but that's either a lie or bugged because it isnt increased.
