Is this a joke?
I cannot use mouse and keyboard because of medical issues and I really depend on Gamepad Support to play a game!!!
If i had only ever used a controller, I wouldn't dream of commenting on a thread about mouse and keyboard.
I like using a controller cause I like playing on my sofa and its easier in my living room to play that way. Each to their own.
Didnt even bother to keep reading after this lol. Classic thinking of a new gamer who lacks completely on videogaming experience. Keep using your gamepad, even with first person shooters. You are doing ot nicely.
Gamepad support would be a good addition to the minority of players who wants to play a game like wolcen with a gamepad but for the mayority of players this is just another waste of time that could be invested on actually fixing things. But again, this should be place the last of the list. I could see controller support coming as a last resource to keep gaining the last straws of money from these players, nothing more.
It's funny that you think it's the minority. When in fact is the opposite, why do you think game companies use controller support as a sales gimmick or high tiered goal bonus in kickstarter? Why do you think Diablo 4 will have controller support from the get go? Hell why do you think 90% of games offer controller support? Why do you think pro or modded controller go for upwards of $200 bucks?
It's actually the minority that still sticks to mouse and keyboard. Other than a FPS or shooter mouse and keyboard bring nothing to the table. Well maybe carpal tunnel but that's about it.
Companies using controller support as a sales gimmick? what in the world are you talking about?
Again, why you guys keep bringing Diablo to the mix??? a game made by an AAA company???? what has to do it with anything at all? this only proves, again, that you guys are completely clueless. Sure, D4 will bring controller support only because Blizzard is an AAA company. Most first person shooter also have controller support. So what?
No dude. Its like saying that the mayority prefer to play first person shooters with a controller. Completely nonsense. Im still im amazed that people confuses likes with facts. You like to play everything with a gamepad? even if its waaaay worst controller than keyb+mouse? good for you. But dont say idiocities like the mayority prefers a controller. Dude thats the most hilarious thing ive ever read lol.
That keyboard + mouse dont bring anything to the table? are you serious? so tell me, please, in your opinion, why do you think that a gamepad brings "something" to the table and keyb+mouse doesnt, even when its way better than any gamepad? please enlight me.
Mouse and keyboard is still the better choice for FPS (and 3rd person) but 3rd person melee games need controller support nowadays.
I grew up with diablo 2... "once upon a time..." then I tried Dark Souls and started to use controller (was rough learn to handle a controller while playing Dark Souls the first time). Since then I only use controller for 3rd person melee games.
Darksiders Genesis was a blast to play with a controller, even the gun play.
1st person melee games like Ghostrunner is a different story.
But I do think there is also a difference in the design philosophy of such games.
The damage mitigation works differently.
"Controller 3rd person melee" games are using parry and dodge more often for damage mitigation different to these old "style" RPG games like diablo.
Sure believe whatever you want, I've been playing PC games, since before you were born and you had to play PC games in floppy disk before windows was even a thing. You're pulling data out of your ass and you're own ignorance. Do a simple google search before answering with nonsensical data next time.

"For some games, PC gamers like me prefer to use controllers - especially if it's a 2D platformer or fighting game. Yes, PC gamers do use controllers."
I work for Microsoft, I've been with Microsoft since I graduated from College, I started in the Xbox 360 division, now the Xbox Series X division, we've been doing R and D on controllers for the last 6 years, because of the huge controller demands on PC. Both for recreational purposes and for gamers with disabilities.
Yes it is true in the past, most PC gamers preferred mouse and keyboard, But that hasnt changed in the last few years, as gaming PC's became more accessible and more and more console gamers switch from console to PC. Now a days, its the minority of PC gamers that still use only mouse and keyboard about a 20%.
Ergo why 95% of games have controller support. It's harder now to find a game that doesn't support controller than finding one that does not.
And this one is straight from steam.

Valve advises developers on controller usage after “surprising” stats revealed
“48 million players have used a controller in a game on Steam”
RTS games are still at a figure “below 1 percent”, whilst fighting games or sport sims account for 70 percent of controller usage. FPS games linger around 7-8 percent, whilst action games played in third-person can be anything up to 50 percent. Skating and racing games were at the top position, with over 90% of gamers using controllers to play.
The demand for controllers is so high, that in fact in this day and age, not having controller support for your game, only hurts you the developer as you will lose out on sales.
You can chose to be blinded by your own ignorance, but facts are facts.
