Companions - Mercenaries/Hireling/Followers

I would like to see aRPG that have something like Mercenary Guild and/or event-triggered Followers that are random (by appearances and classes), but they would be customized by equipment and skills. Maybe also implementation of items called “Tactical Scrolls” that would control Hirelings AI (like Supporter, Berserker, Looter, Guardian, Flanker, Runner, etc.) buyable in some Merchant (Trainer) or droppable.

I don’t want for them to be too smart, but I always liked idea of having a personal army.
They should be perm-death or expensive to resurrect/recover.

Last time I saw something like that was Dungeon Siege (1 and 2).

Hi, mercenaries are planned, and will be customizable in terms of equipment and behavior. There's more planned about them, but it is something that we'll reveal later ;)
