What is War of Rights?

The question is intended to be rhetorical to a extent, I simply want to mention that WoR is not per se here "for you" as in to be a game that caters to your desires -
it is intended to emulate the American Civil War as if you could "be in the shoes" of a soldier.

However, very many acquire WOR with expectations which tend to be somewhat conditioned by "gamer habbits," if you will.

Which is just what most are and are here for: to play "a game"

For those here to participate into what it is to be a soldier -historically- do not need to read past this...


Am wondering, that it may be possible in the future that some privates will randomly spawn without a weapon and that these muskets we see on the ground someone can pick up ?

Note that the primary "suggestions" for what to put in WOR comes from the research of historians and NOT from the opinion of a "average gamer."

- "I want this" or "make it balanced" "that is not fair" "I hate this map"
... is "never" what is "historical"

What did people have in 1862? ...
Unlimited reloads? nope - we did not have UPS for supplies..
healing? nope no spell casting clerics..
hit marks? nope no 24th century bio scan technology...

And it should be obvious that having a personal two-way voice communications device as a 'space marine' such in the Aliens movie -as one may accomplish with the use of Discord- certainly did not exist either.

Even so people who want to play a game like a space marine limited to powder era weaponry may more readily do so when the tool set comes out and you can make things are fair and balanced as you please.

And the folks who are here to be in the shoes -or feet- of what a soldier of the time was having to face may, likewise, make more maps to for them.

the principal interest of wor, is to participate to private event, you choose the regiment of your language and let's for battle on the field, regiments have a lot to offer, special training, special tips, we take this game like a classic war (public game is an execption => it's free party over there :D ) so i suggest to everyone to go on WOR recruitment section to see what regiment is the more adapted to your vison of the game ;)
