How do we still not have a halfway decent melee system and no CAV still, there doing things like making autumn themed maps instead of focusing on the dame game

Read the previous posts of the "road map" that is planned-
as I sometimes say, this is not the Final Fantasy franchise with 50 to 100 developers.

50-100 devs is a small team finally fantasy has over 1000 devs and employees, regardless the progress is way to slow, hire a bigger team and make do on basic mechanics and promises

Won't happen ever they failed to deliver many times and it will only go into a decline more while the vocal few who love the game defend it and deny issues
That is my exact fear

On the contrary, over time WoR has ever been growing steadily.

And, really, WoR is the "dream child" of the DEVs,
so if what they are doing results in "slow and steady" then the most anyone else can do is to be patient.

Calvary is incredibly hard too introduce too a game like WOR that focuses on realism. Battlefield 1 only introduced Calvary because their game is a Fast and Arcade style FPS. And While yes They used Calvary during the Civil war, it was Far less effective as technology advanced. If u look at how Battlefield 1 introduced Calvary they gave them significantly more health then your average solider Making them overpowered in comparison, too even make them viable too use during matches. You may think that its laziness on the devs end but there is way more too game balance then you think.

Cavalry is a useless feature for this game. Musicians are a good example why.

Skill-based melee is risky. Take a look at Napoleonic Wars line battle events where one experienced dude is capable of winning 1v5 melee fight - imagine the amount of toxicity, ragequitting and salt melee skill gap will produce.

sounds like mental gymnastics to me, Cav would not be useless

no one is asking for a complicated melee system lol, we just want one thats fun to use and the ability to block and have real hand to hand combat like they did in the war, not un reasonable expectation from a "simulation" of the cival war

cavalry fought dismounted at Antietam, and in most of the civil war. horses were too valuable to risk in battle. they were used extensively for artillery, which is likely where this game will introduce them.

Melee engagements were equally rare. The devs will eventually rework it, the game is a work in progress, but right now a new melee system is not the top of the priority list in a game that focuses on a gun-centered war.
