Kill Counter
this game is awesome but the fact that it doesnt keep count of your kills and deaths is beyond lame! ive only played this a handful of times in the last few months for that reason alone. whats the point in playing an hour of gameplay just to see if you win or lose? i want to know how well im doing and how well my friends are doing! so i guess im personally done with this game until people band together and make them add a kill counter! Thanks to all and god Bless

Win or lose is all you really need to know. The rest of the information is useless. This particular game is about working together as a team and individualism is penalized so that's how it's scored. Have fun.

You'll be sad to hear that more people are banded together to keep them from implementing a kill counter. You already do get a team kill count at the end with seeing the out of lines, skirmish, and in formation deaths, but it is unlikely you will ever see a personal count as WoR is more MilSim than shooter.

This has been discussed about a hundred times, always with the same result: It is quite deliberately not intended to implement something like this. But of course you are welcome to demand it again.

If you must have a game that performs in this manner, then one may play any number of others which have this feature.

However, in truth, it is impossible to refer to such a setting as 'accurate' if the objective is also to be 'historical.'

In history, there may be battles which we possibly may never know why they were won or lost. Reality is filled with the unknown.

Blessings to you and yours in Christ, amen

You shot at a line of smoke in the distance. Why would know need to know if you got a kill in that?

This is not a game that caters to the participation trophy crowd

in this game, youre a cog in a machine. you just have to do your part. thats how you contribute to the win. You are rewarded with XP at the end of the round depending on how long you spent being a part of that machine vs. going off solo

I just got the game and yes its pretty lame. Most of the time the leader has you lined up so far away from the enemy, you end up firing into a clump of bushes and trees. "Fire at the smoke" lol yeah ok, thats why we need a counter.
This isnt call of duty.... Go play your PS4... Many of us like the realism of this game. Dont let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya
The other replies already said what there is to say but the way I see it your personal kills don't matter. Reloads are long, distances are far, enemies are hard to spot, you're not Doom guy, you probably won't get more than 10 kills in a game, so your individual kills will not have any noticeable effect on the outcome of the game. What matters is whether or not your team plays smart and sticks together.

This game is fun because of the immersion and the community

Firing your singleshot rifle, without having a target isn't realism, its suicide. :steamfacepalm:

EDIT: That's why you have so many rambos running around on the servers. They wanna see wtf they're shooting at and whether or not they killed someone. And FYI... Call of Duty sucks! America's Army is realism at its best since version 1.7 #HOOAH

I have played mil-sims since the 1990s and have to say I enjoy not having a kill counter.

One of the worst things in games today is the egos and guys screaming at everyone who have less kills than them.
I like that if my regiment takes aim where we are told and fire that we see tickers drop and know we are doing our part and half the team isn't " doing their own thing" so they can call people out at the end who don't have 200 kills.
I literally uninstalled PS, and HLL because nobody would be a officer and it forced me to be a officer every match and have a full squad full of Rambos who where just trying to run up personal scores while our team lost.
Keep up the realism WoR.

I asked a developer a very long time ago what the reason was behind not showing our kill counts. He stated that if they did that, nobody would bother to stay in formation. They would run off and kill people on their own just to get the highest KDR ("ramboing" as we say in the game).

If you look closely (and are sufficiently close) you can see a blood spray when you hit someone. That, and you obviously see them go limp if you kill them with a bayonet.

I agree, I miss the positive feedback from seeing that I did in fact hit something at range, but I understand why they don't and adapt accordingly. You will have people chasing scores over teamwork, which is why Darktide also removed said tallies.

In the end, your personal contribution is important, but overall team effect is way more. I've had games where I die as soon as I spawn and take nobody with me pretty much the entire map, and I've had maps where I've killed over half a dozen men in multiple charges on one life. Sometimes you eat the rebel, and sometimes the rebel eats you.
