How to aim accurately?
I'm new, I like this game very much, I just unlocked the artillery, I have a question now: how to aim accurately?:JohnnyReb:

Almost all the instructional videos teach you how to reload, how to clean the barrel, how to choose ammo, etc., but I know all these, the only problem I have is how to aim. After entering the aiming screen, your sight can still move left and right, where should your only small aiming tip be aimed? What angle should your eyes be with the gun barrel? The only thing I don't know is this, I can't hit the target no matter how I aim, help me

That can be complicated, or maybe not?

If you wish, you may come and say 'hi' to the group which I got into:

see a link via my Steam profile, if you like.

Generally with cannons, moving your camera down so only the very tip of the sight post is visible will give you the best results. From there, it's mostly just point and shoot since at most distances in the game, the shot trajectory is flat. Just remember that you should be aiming for the feet of your targets to avoid overshooting.

After that it can get more advanced by paying attention to the "Range" indicator on the bottom right UI that shows you the distance the shot will travel before detonating. You can use the Page Up/Page Down keys to adjust your fuse length in order to make the shot detonate sooner or later. Useful if you need to airburst a shot behind a defilade for example.

As you play artillery you will learn to eyeball distance and correlate it with the range indicator in order to consistently make decent shots.

If you can do all of that then you'll be better than 90% of all regimental event arty players. :lilimjoy:

Thank you, that's the type of answer I was looking for, like how far to lower the camera, etc.

I tried this for a while, but it was still hard to hit the target, just smoke around it. And Case Shot never seems to hit.

Practice on Drillcamp Artillery range. You can get a better sense of if you're hitting your target based on the Needle's placement with the end of your barrel there. The feedback of the Target board is wayy more consistent than the smoke in game
