Hot Take On Private Regiment Servers (Ghost Of Antietam Event)
I'll make this short and sweet for those who don't want to read a giant speech.

Full Disclosure, but not harping on the event or any of the regs. or owners. I was kicked for having no tag but was warned by other players when I joined. I knew it would happen eventually. I just overstayed my free trial. I just wanted to play some WOR and no one was on the public servers.

Organization: Ehhh, you have a little more because of set officers and NCO's. Other than that, it's still a mess and people were lost consistently. It was kind of what ever worked. At one point I heard 3 people give 3 different orders from the same regiment.

Trolls/Rambos: Same if not more. People were talking about how fascists the owners of the server were and that they were like "Nazis". There was a conversation that started about George Floyd and a supposed Civil War 2.0. Went on for about 5 minutes but would of went longer if the admin didn't say something. Lots of people wanting to cheat by spectating, at least a dozen people were kicked while I was there for that reason. Rambo's were still present but usually dealt with. When I first joined some enlisted men were shouting over NCO's giving orders. I was hearing 3 people give 3 different orders at once.

Teamkillers: Ah, tons. I personally was TK'd about 4 separate times, usually during charges. The guy stabbed me like 15 seconds after we had killed everyone. I was hearing about a teamkiller purposefully shooting people down the volley line I was in.

Summary: I mean.............. most of the people that play these events join the public servers when the events or drills are not happening. I feel like I got the same experience.

Good assessment.

As it happens, there are those groups who are not much of a 'cut above' what can be found among the disorganized members of the public servers - you get what you get when you always have what you have always had.

As a rule - yes, you must have some sort of unit identifier else be removed from the server for obvious reasons.

Speaking for myself, it has become difficult to find good quality individuals who wish to be part of a team that is dedicated and focused.

I would modify that assessment and say "most of THOSE people..." as the folks who act no differently have themselves formed groups to carry on what they do in public servers.

There are more other groups which include those who seldom, rarely or else adamantly refuse to not ever play the public servers.

Also, among the various events, there are those groups who have been expelled and then they migrate to other events.

Do you know how easy it is to add/edit your name in WoR?

I've been in a regiment for three years and none of that crap happened, or would be tolerated.

I can somewhat understand where you are coming from, but not all units are on the same level. Some aren't much more than a loose group of pubbers. I pretty much only play in privet events anymore and they are never as bad as you just described it. TKs happen still, sure. The mechanics are still wonky at times, and accidents happen. Most units will drill things to help avoid this, mostly in melee. If one guy was being a prick well.. welcome to online gaming. People shouting over others happens. You can mute, which is done by a lot of people to anyone not in their own unit. Hearing 3 people giving orders could be that you were hearing 3 different units. If you weren't part of the coordination or briefed prior to the match by a unit you aren't going to know exactly what each unit is doing in the grand scheme of things. Sometimes units even split off detachments for various reasons. Yes, you will still get an odd Rambo here and there, but some units send scouts out that seem like rambos, but really aren't. If someone is trolling the match even if they are part of a unit it is almost always addressed.

Actually, I was following the 7th Tennessee around and we were out in the woods firing down from a hill. It was legitimately a troll because the NCO said he recorded it and would be reporting it.

Maybe it was just this semi-public event. It was a streamers event, we all know how that usually goes.

Hopefully you reported all of those who don't agree with your politics and pronouns to the party leader on that server, comrade?

as a Regiment veteran who doesn't do that much via units anymore due to IRL things but as one who has led, take part, or been in any regimental business throughout my 5-6yrs what i see here is a odd experience as no tag people usually don't get the full experience if you wanted to attend such events as a pub your better off doing what is known as Mercing which is being a mercenary member but not a full on member it's best to do that if you are gonna attend a event 1 time or try out a regiment see how ya do it

but reason you prob heard 3 different commands in game is probably cause they were relaying commands that were said in Discord as that happens time to time

i personally love Organized events sure not all will go as plan but all that matters is if people have fun cause trying to take a event seriously nowadays doesn't work out to well unless it's one of those big time things like a fan film or somethin

you also got to keep in mind the people who organize these events won't always be 100% perfect as we are all human and we will make mistakes

This was legitimately 3 different commands, I could hear the Officer and then the NCO relaying. It was a legit troll which they took care of.
