Is there buckshot in the game? Cause in the training camp, one guy was hitting 4 times the target for 1 shot. In a sort of square pattern. Maybe devs should look into this, you know what I mean...

Some regiments have the option of "buck and ball" with their weapon. Basically a shotgun loadout. Select by pressing 2 if you have the right weapon.

If you spawn with a Springfield 42, you will have the option to switch to buck shot by pressing 2.
You can check your weapon by pressing T.

Regiments like the 69th NY get them as well as many southern regiments.

Yes, if you have a smoothbore musket you can change ammunition from "Roundball" to "Buck and Ball" and make it into a short range, shotgun-type weapon. Rifled weapons cannot do this.

Buck and ball is one musket ball and 3 smaller balls, mostly percussion pistol balls. Can be really effective when the enemy charges right at you, can kill 2 up to even three, depending how close they run beside each other.
