Union Teamwork
Just an initial observation.

I beheld a bizarre spectacle last night.

As I spawned in on the flag I saw a row of Union soldiers standing and crouching behind a wall all facing the one way towards the enemy.

Suddenly out of nowhere, one or two Rebs ran in from a flank behind them bayoneting them one-by-one and worked their way across the whole line killing at least 10 guys. They had no idea of what was happening!

I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Seems to me the Rebs are always flanking us, whereas the Union side tends to line up square to the enemy and likes to duke it out with volleys.

Challenging times lie ahead for us boys in blue.

It's like Blackwake, noobs choose pirates - in this game, noobs choose Union it seems.

So CSA is stacked experienced players.

Kinda parallels the initial stages of the real Civil War.

Although it wasn't me you saw, at Harpers Ferry I did this exact same thing, killing five from right to left. Nothing to gloat over, they're new players and I'm glad to see the numbers.

TKing seems to run rampant on the Union side as well. Just finished a small match on their side (since the CSA side was already filled and I didn't want to wait another 2 hours before managing to log in ;) )... they won closely due to weapon superiority (Sharps rifles are nasty if you have open fields of fire), but out of their 45 losses 10 were TKs (I counted the chat messages).

On a side note: that was a match the CSA lost due to playing the game as it was meant to be played and the Union playing (sort of) like you would in a modern shooter. :D

I played about 6 matches yesterday on one of two available servers (150).
With casualties ranging from 100/250 to 250/100, the Union won every single skirmish. CSA, not a single win.

I don't think you have met the 6th La yet when we're all together :-) if you're looking for a fitght you're going to get one :-) Teamwork is a key to victory in this game.

Not on all maps, it seems. Teamwork got the CSA shredded on the map I mentioned above. :/

I would rather fight within a good CSA Rgt ;)

It's frustrating as Union lol. I was in one game about 10 hours ago and everyone was arguing with each other and not listening to the Officer.

Confusion and disagreement usually happens over when and if to charge and you get that awkward half-charge where some do and some don't.

We were slaughtered.

It's very hard to organise and coordinate properly when the majority on a server are public lone wolfs. Wthout an organised unit present to guide things along chaos prevails.

Hopefully this will change as more people join or form units.

Somebody should have been watching your rear the dirty rebs always use guerrilla tactics or what we call in this game rambo tactics.
tabten Dec 7, 2018 @ 4:58am
Yes, that even happens with the organised companies.

They come around the flanks and start bayoneting - they kill 3 tickets worth maybe but lose 5?

Somehow I don’t think they care about team tickets.

Hm, I still think that sending a few skirmishers out to harrass an enemy line formation from the flanks (or behind if they are extremly careless) is a legitimate tactic. Those expensive Whitworths have to be good for something :)
