How is the player count?
I just got played and had my eye on this game but i see in the community tab that there isnt even a player count. How low are the servers? Or how popular is the game?

Look it's a good game but you will rarely find full servers. Usually only 1 half full server. Unless you want to join a reg and have a set time of the week to play then wait for a big update.

Hi there!

It really depends on how you look at it (are you wanting to play with a group/where are you located?).

WoR is a heavy team oriented game with the vast majority of its playerbase being americans.

These two things combined with the niche genre that an authentic civil war game of course is, means that you'll see organized activites at set ours, usually in the evenings, US time.

Worth buying into on early access - view it as a discount that helps produce the final product. When the artillery is added more players will return as their units/companies desire to use or are based on actual artillery batteries/units/companies.

Sadly as an Australian, AEST evenings there are usually only 5-15 people on a server - tonight (Friday night) I checked around 8-9pm and there were 5 people on one server and 2 on another, both drill camp servers.

I don't mind small player numbers personally, it's a very nice game, but sadly even if only 15 players, I get 3-5 second+ hangs/freezes randomly - usually when being fired at or being melee'd. I do have a 10 year old PC though. But I don't get these 5 second + hangs in other games. Basically FPS goes to 0.2 or something I suppose? Odd that other games it doesn't happen. Also have everything as low as possible, apart from resolution, set native to my monitor

Im an American living in Korea so i understand your pain. The best times to check the servers for us are Early saturday morning and early sunday morning. Thats when the servers are fullest. Ive managed to be in a full server.
during the week it starts getting filling up after 5pm bst and from what ive seen goes on until late at night

I bought the game yesterday and I am from France +6 hours with the East Coast of the US. At 10 pm for me it's 4 pm for them, not a lot of people but enough for a quite fun game with 130 players.
i may get it, but i work on the weekend ends. So i wouldnt be able to play then

I was wondering If I should get it... Looks like a great game, but a lot of niche games like this usually mean that Australians miss out because the server population is either European/American based. It would be fantastic if the ping wasn't so high.

I am also hesitant. It looks really cool, but in my gametime (weekdays CET 19-21) it seems like it has a very low playercout (Steam charts). Are there any organized european teams or servers that are not indicated on Steamcharts?
Necramonium™ Jun 26, 2019 @ 12:10pm
Lets see, right now there is a server of 126/150 people playable, more than enough people to shoot! And in the weekends there are events where more people join.
