Game on the wrong Monitor
The game plays for me on the wrong monitor and the option menu didnt let me select the correct one.

But i do have an solution.

For Linux (did not test this):
  • go to /home/.config/unity3d/SomaSim
  • search for the pref file
  • find the row "<pref name="UnitySelectionMonitor" type="int">0</pref>"
  • change the 0 to a positive interger. I changed it to 2 because i wanted in on the thrid monitor

For Windows
  • open regedit
  • go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\SomaSim\Project Highrise
  • find UnitySelectMonitor_h17969598 (the number might be different for everybody)
  • change the 0 to a positive interger. I changed it to 2 because i wanted in on the thrid monitor

There's an easier way to go about it on Windows:
- Start the game (on the wrong display)
- Hit Alt-Enter to switch to windowed mode
- Move the game to the other display
- Hit Alt-Enter to switch back to full screen
- Go into "Options" in the main menu, and adjust resolution to match the new display

Maybe I should make this a sticky...

Thanks for the heads up! That's surprising because Unity is *supposed to* remember the last used display without any additional work. Glad to hear your work-around works when the default Unity functionality doesn't. :)

I too am experiencing this bug. The registry workaround was a permanent solution for me. Because I only have two monitors, I used the integer 1 and that placed it on the correct monitor.

Some info for you to use during bugfixing-- I have two monitors, my main is on my right, and they're two different resolutions with the main having the higher resolution of the two. I don't know if this is just a general multimonitor bug or if that could affect it. Thought you could use the info in any case.

Thank you! The version of Unity we've been using has some bugs with multi-display support, and we've been waiting for them to fix that :(

So I don't have an ETA on a proper fix. But for now, it looks like the workarounds are working!

Regarding reply #1, I had the same issue and found that, after manually moving the window to the correct monitor, the native resolution of my primary monitor was not available, probably because it is higher (2560*1440) than that of the monitor the game first opened on (1920*1080). I was able to get around this by modifying the resolution settings in prefs.txt, but it would have been better if the options menu had more available resolutions by default.

For those of you with more than two or 3 monitors to manage, here is a good link for you in general...

I have 6-monitors and this little reg-tweak is very handy to run through!
