Trash Bin's
My trash Bin's (Both the regular and the recylying) are always full no matter how many more that I add to that floor. I've only got a couple of appartments on each floor. Not sure what to do??

Have you built trash collectors to empty the trash bins?

If the bins are full they obviously need emptying. Try placing more collectors...

What others have already stated:

Be aware there's both bins AND collection rooms in the same tab. The bins empty themselves in the collection room and the collection room empties itself every morning. Without collection rooms, the bins have no way of emptying themselves.

Also, you only need one trash bin per floor at any given time, as far as I've been able to tell. Although, I haven't tested this with higher tier, more luxury apartments and such.

I have loads of the collection bins for both of them. I usually add more collection bins when the red sad face comes up but this does not seem to work

There is something wrong...

Please post some screenshots of the situation and trash overlay too. Thanks.

I put one trash bin, and one recycle bin on every floor (2 depending on building side), then for collection, i have one entire basement level with nothing but trash and recycle collection spots. It's probably overkill on the collection amount, but... it's been very effective so far! No trash issues at all.

Seriously need more collection service. You have a couple recycles not red, so fewer of those. As a general rule I run one garbage collection for every 10 floors of apartments. Apartments are either 2 Studio, 1 1BR and 2 2BR Smalls or 4 2 BR smalls all sharing common Garbage and Recycling. Restaurants get their own set of bins with their own pickups.

Any time I see an angry face in the basement on a pickup, or if it looks full through the night I add another collection site. Though there isn't much in the way of anecdotal evidence, I find placing more collectors does help the trash get emptied quickly and I don't get any red faces.

More collectors for me makes less problems and no trash build up in the floors.

Edit: I also place them by the elevators so they spend less time walking.

Looks like your trash collectiors are running behind because of the sheer amount of trash cans not originally being empty on time. Basically the final bins before being disposed of are maxing out due to the trash collectors trying to handle so many full bins at once.

What you most likely will need to do is reset your trash collection by either removing all trash cans and replacing all with 1 brand new one per floor and then hire 1-2 more trash collectors to handle the next few days. Or if you don't want to remove the bins hire 20 something trash collectors then after 2-3 days everything should be caught up.

I only have 1 trash can per floor and maxed out on offices/tenants on each floor and it handles fine. I'm 25 something floors and only need 2 trash collectors still.

Actually achievement for 100%-full trash room.. Alternative is to delete and replace bins if basement already too cluttered to place any more,..

In addition to a suggestion I put forward to be able to set the number of times 'automatic renovations' can occur in 1 day, I would also favor the prior suggestions; that we have the ablity to dictate how many times a day trash gets collected. Twice seems sufficient, although for VERY large, mature towers... 3 may be needed. The more collection runs you have in 1 day will obviously increase the maint cost, but the service would be better overall.

Maybe even split it out a bit, as regular waste fills quciker than Recycle waste does:

($ amount purely for showing example)
Regular Waste Collection: 1x a day - $150
Regular Waste Collection: 2x a day - $250
Regular Waste Collection: 3x a day - $300

Recycling Waste Collection: 1x a day - $75
Recycling Waste Collection: 2x a day - $125
Recycling Waste Collection: 3x a day - $150

Adds another level of granularity to your building...therefore increasing the fun!! Right!? ;p

My collection rooms are full and they are never empty. Bins (both general waste as recyclable) are always with red face. What´s happening?
I put a screenshot
It seems to me that when trash workers come to work, the first thing they do is empty the trash room (1 guy), however, since the trash room is already 100% full, the rest of the room's workers don't empty trash bins.

Not sure why the trash room is emptied by the tower workers. There should be an outside service that empties the trash room at a certain time (12 am), preferably not during trash worker hours, so as to keep from disrupting their work.

Also workers seem to only empty each bin once. Once all bins have been emptied (or ignored) they just sit around the rest of their shift, instead of doing their job and revisiting used trash bins.

I have used the same strategy, and I have collection issues at the higher floors and in deeper game, after placing multiple luxury apartments (including rooftop penthouses), Hotel suites (including presidential and honeymoon), and Office HQ's.

I have 4 recycle bins, and 2 trash bins per floor, a service elevator running the full length of the building, and almost two full basement floors full of trash and recycle rooms. I routinely check the collection rooms and bulldoze and replace them when they reach 100% full, yet I still have gourmet restaurants and luxury tenants moving out on higher floors (above 40 or so). This is also in a building that stretches fully across usable tiles, so I know there is a lot of space to cover.

I've also wondered who is emptying the bins on each floor. Since you can only place one "Infrastructure" janitor closet and 3 broom closet, I was thinking there was no way my janitors can keep up with the volume of trash and recycling throughout the building.

Maybe I need to add a second service elevator. Anyway, I was curious why there isn't the ability to add more janitorial services in the basement once the tower grows in population. I've gone so far as to add up to 8 recycle and 4 trash bins per floors, but they still don't get emptied and my tenants move out. This causes me to lose my prestige and makes planning and placing items on the higher floors very difficult.

Also, I have all consultants placed, and all consultant upgrades purchased using my influence points. I also regularly run media ads using my buzz points as I think it may help with various aspects of the game.

Anyway, I'm not sure if this is a bug (emptying trash on higher floors, needing more janitorial services, etc), or if there is something I'm not thinking of.

I'm really enjoying the game - it's very addicting and requires multi-tasking. However, at this point in the game, it gets very frustrating. Any ideas would be appreciated.
