Too much foot traffic
Can anyone explain this complaint? I have built luxury lofts or duplex apartments and the complaint pops up there is too much foot traffic and noise. Even when there is nothing on the surrounding floor horizontally or vertically. Does this have something to do with elevators? I can't really figure it out.

I don't know. I have some luxury 3 bedroom appartments (well the second before last size one). I added a 2BR appartment between it and the elevator...so I have:
Elevator - 2BR - 3BR - 3BR and the last 3BR which has nothing to its right is complaining about noise and foot traffic. This is on the 15th floor. The only foot traffic is... service people as far as I can see.... service people they'Re calling for. :)

Bug?

Probably not a bug - I think the game is reacting as it is condition to. But this is probably something we should address - apartments shouldn't get unhappy from their own foot traffic... We'll look into it!

I think it's the people in the other apartments walking through to get to their apartments.

No - I think previous comment is right. They probably are hypersensitive to their own foot traffic...

Well I would agree it being other appartments (I mean in what world is someone opening teir door in the hallway a reason to make a formal life-crisis about it :P ); however, in my example above, right to the 3rd appartment is... outside. So there's no "passing through" traffic.

I do have a second office tower to the right but there's a good 8 tiles of space.

Thanks Mr. Dev; great work by the way. Some bugs but the foundation is there so future developments should be fun. :)

Oh speaking of foot traffic; could we also have a bus stop bringing people in from the right?

Cheers,

Atleast luxury 2BR and dublex apartments seem do not posses a "sweet zone". They're either complaining about too near elevators, or about too much distance to walk. I don't have the exact tile range, but often they complain about both. Whatever you do, you can't fulfill their needs.
It's like they are just complaining for complains' sake.

On the other hand, looking into some of the threads in this steam forum, it kinda seems realistic though.

Not only are they hipersensible to their own foot traffic but also to the elavator. How many tiles apart should it be? I am leaving a 8 tile lobby space and they still complain about the elavator noise.

Elevator overlay shows a range of about 16 tiles.
The Luxury 2BR on the left are happy.
The Luxury 2BR in the middle complain about the elevator, but not enough to require a rent reduction.
I put the non-Luxury 2BR beside the elevator, because they like it.

As for the Large 2BR, the handymen and housekeepers that they call seem to be enough to bother them with their traffic.

Is this fixed because i habe this with the Large Duplex Apartment and there is nothing execpt other apartments and the handymen, housekeepers, etc. that they call

Patch 1.06 should have taken care of it. I can try to confirm it when I get back home in 4 hours.

I'll edit this post with a firm yes/no

Let me know - changes in 1.0.6 should have dropped the traffic they generate down below the level they care about IF it's just them by themselves and no through trafffic, so I'd be curious to see more real world tests.
Here are two pictures the first shows the traffic and the second one of the apartment information

As you can see on the traffic there isn't really much and the most ist only because of the service they call

What if you were to click on the one to the left? Are they still commenting about traffic?
