Checking the economy, eviction prestige, genre actually not Sim
So far, really enjoying the game. It ain't Simtower where the biggest headache is traffic, but I'm enjoying playing around with all the synergies.

First off: Is there any way to check up on the economy? Something like the ADA system bringing up stock/oil/BNP or any type of presentation of how the outside world is doing economically wise? I know economics are fickle and I'm not advocating eliminating that system (though a sandbox option to do so would be nice), but even the daftest of enomical pundents should be able to tell you that an economy is doing better or worse than last month. It gives me a tool to keep a better handle on rent prices, only taking on new renters when things are up. Right now, all we have is a tiny little message popping up in the upper right corner.

Second, how does ADA's population feedback work? Does it tally up every complaint since day one, or is it a daily overview? One of the top complaints in my tower right now, is not being able to get where people wanted. However, I don't see that. There's elevators everywhere and nobody seems to complain about it when I click on them. Did ADA bring those complaints over from way back when I hadn't hooked an empty floor up to an elevator and my builders couldn't reach and complained about it 20 times?

Also, another complaint I get from tenents, is not about being able to find a dinner place. This was strange to me, as I had a pizzaria in my tower. On closer examination, the person complaining, her exact sentence being "Too bad this place doesn't have a diner" was ironically from the waiter in the pizza place! You mean, a diner... like the one you're standing in? Grab a slice girl!

I'm also somewhat weirded out that evictions, give prestige penalties. What if I want to renovate my sandbox tower, get rid of all those lvl 1 offices and put in some nice lvl 3 ones? Penalize me financially, but through prestige? Allow me an option to buy out a business, pay even more than the fine, rather than take a prestige hit. I've read somewhere that your prestige recuperates, but it's still odd.

Finally, this game reminds me less of Simtower, Simcity or any other Sim game, and more of a game like Reus.
Reus is a god game and you can plop plants, minerals and animals down to feed the cities of your followers with points like food, science and wealth. Some even give off danger, to keep the spread of followers in check. An orchard gives food, a whale wealth, apes science etc. However, to really do well at Reus, means to realize that all those plants, animals and minerals have a symbiosis. A whale does better if there's mackerel nearby and yields more points. Wolves live in Iron caves, making them more dangerous, while the nearby Bizon seem to thrive off that fact as long as there's no snakes nearby.
And then there's highrise, where a Lvl2 office wants several diners, proximity to an elevator is a pluss and the diner itself likes high traffic.

I wouldn't call Highrise a Sim game. It's in the same, new genre as Reus: It's a symbiosis puzzle game and I love it!

Hi,

for checking ecomomy: click on the money to open the budget window. Click on the rent slider. It will tell you there.

"Too bad this place doesn't have a diner" -> know bug

Prestige penality for evictions disappear in 7 days.

And you won't take a hit for destroying small or even medium offices/apartments/restaurants/stores. Only the very high end ones will have this impact.

The restaurant workers not eating at their own restaurant is strange... trying to figure that one out!

1. Click on your money to get the budget screen.
Click on the slider button for rents by property type, and that screen will say something like 'Stable and slowly improving.'

2. ADA seems to reset daily.

3. Workers in dinner restaurants are currently bugged.

4. You get a warning that an eviction will actually cause a prestige loss. Most don't, but I've got some luxury apartments that are too close to noise right now, so I'll probably experiment soon and see what happens when you take the prestige hit.

They probably know how dirty their kitchen is and so choose not to eat there!

I figured, hey, if somebody wants some diner food, they want some diner food. I don't go to Pizza Hut when I'm craving a cheeseburger and fries. (Or any other time. But that's beside the point.)

And lo, the LORD spoke "He who knowest thy cook needest not to pray before ye lunch." ;)

Mainly lack of information to the player is the only thing holding it back. I have 150 legal offices and the HQ says I need more. How many more, or is it more of a particular type. I have only seen Small Basic, Medium General, and Medium Special legal offices.

Also, if an office says prefers upper or lower floors what is the cut off and does it change as the tower gets taller? Putting it on floor 10 of a 12 story is upper floors to me be if its a 60 story building floor 10 should be lower.

If you really have 150 legal offices, that might be a bug?

I have 96 Small Legal Offices thought some are labeled as Privite Investigators and other are Law Offices. Also I have 21 Medium Legal Offices with some labeled General Law Offices and some as Specialist Law Offices. I dont see any options for Large Legal Offices.

I would have to hunt them down individually to get exact numbers of subtypes of legal offices. But I am also running into the same issue with Tech Offices, 48 Small and 8 Medium and it wont let me build a Large Tech Office since I dont have enough.

That's not right. If you have that many, you should have unlocked the HQs already. Can you send a save file to support [at] somasim.com?
