So, how does it stack up to SimTower and Yoot Tower
Get it? Stack up? nvm

How's it compared to those two?

The game is fantastic. If you are a fan of SimTower and/or Yoot Tower I don't think this will disappoint in the slightest.

It's not very good, and that hurts to say as someone with hundreds of hours in Sim/Yoot Tower. The utility system is very fiddly and un-fun, I dislike the way elevators work, and it really feels very shallow. Wide, maybe (lots of different rooms), but it's very shallow. Build A to unlock B, build B to unlock C.

It shames me to say that it isn't quite what I expected, but I'm going to give it a bit longer to grow on me before I write it off. I expected something with more variety. I think what ruins it for me is the feeling of it dragging on even when I have the speed on fast, and wiring all the utilities manually becomes tedious after a short while.

The wiring gets tiring, but so did the EXTREME ELEVATOR MANAGER tedium of Sim/Yoot. I think this game has a slower pace, but i've really been enjoying it. I think it's a good idea to remember this is based more on the late 20th century Chicago-style office tower than it is the circa mid-90s tokyo power skyscraper.

The pace is just slower, and while I do want a "true" Sim Tower successor, I think Project Highrise sets a good stage for a new tower building platform. Can't wait to see what modders come up with and what expansions Soma cooks up.

^ agree 100%, give the game some time and it will get its hooks in you

I think its okay, I mean Simtower did a lot of things really well.
The little things bother me, like trying to build an entire floor in this means each piece of the floor is placed in succession. In Simtower, you could drag an entire floor and on releasing the mouse, the floor was bought. There's some lag dragging a mouse across an entire floor in this game that bothers me. Same with the utility lines.
Not knowing prerequisites for a building that is about to be rented and only seeing them again when building a blank apartment or office space is also bugging me. 'Did I need a dog walker for this apartment?'
Its also got a feel of what I consider 'World of Warcraft' types of fetch quests, to put it simply: build 10 medium apartments to unlock the next tier. Build 5 gourmet restaurants to unlock the next tier.
And a lack of special events. Remember when you'd have VIPs visit your tower in Simtower and you'd have to make sure there was no elevator congestion, they had a good time, and if so you got ... something? (I cant remember what they did)
And right now the influence seems pretty useless at times. I'd say it needs more options or more substantial ones.

Lol yeah, and the bomb threat when all employed and residents run out and bomb squad searched the whole tower. Would be fun to have fire inspector in this version and some maintenance around that. Maybe close down the tower if to many fire hazards.
