What is different about this and every other tower game?
Ive played "Droid towers" on android as well as other tower building games. Whats different about this that makes it worth almost 20 bucks? And those games are free if im not mistaken.

EDIT:
Yes its mobile games. My tablet is 10", not 4. Much better to game on a tablet than a phone. Regardless, i dont game much on mobile games, i prefer pc. But if a game is free on android, and costs on pc, i would of course choose free. You guys make it sound like they are the same game (or very similar), but you have to pay 20 bucks to pay on a pc monitor VS a tablet of 10" screen. That to me seems insane. I would rather degrade to a tablet/phone for a free game...even if there is one avialble on steam that costs...especially 20 bucks. If its similar to the mobile games, i would assume 5-10 would be a better price. That i would be more willing to pay for.

Is there anything else that this game offers besides the ability to play tower building on a non-mobile device? Or are you just paying 20 dollars to play a mobile game clone on your monitor in steam?

Well for me personally it brings back the age of SimTower where I had hours and hours of fun :)
$20 is a great price (especially when you look at the price of No Man's Sky) and unlike NMS this game is actually in a "finished" state...

I'm not sure comparing this game to No Man's Sky, a completely different genre and style of game that has nothing in common with Project Highrise, is really effective for someone who wants it compared to other available games that share the same general genre ("Tower Building Simulator").

Unfortunately, I have not played Droid Tower or other mobile-platform tower games, so I won't be of much use, either.

lol comparing a mobile game to a PC game, stick to your 4" screen OP.

I was only comparing the price, not the game :)

The OP was also comparing the price... to free mobile games.

That would be like "Why should I buy this $20k Toyota Camry instead of this $15k Honda Civic?" "Well because the Camry is a lot cheaper than a Mercedes Benz."

Mods would be one difference that comes to mind , though it's a bit premature to say how valuable that difference will be.

No harm in that. I have my doubts about replay ability as well, but under $20 and I'm willing to give it a chance, even if there is a similar free alternative on mobile. I've just never been a big fan of mobile gaming.
How replayable is any sim?
It is a chance for you to improve on your last effort.
Once I had read the SimCity manual the game was for all intents and purposes, over.

The only replay value is building a bigger, a more efficient city.
Sounds similar to me.
