So, any plans for a Project Highrise 2?
Project Highrise was a good game, and my post is not meant as a criticism, just as a wish list of what I'd like to see in a future Project Highrise style game.

It would be nice if the game could be in a 3D tower, I'm thinking of something like The Sims, Project Hospital, and the upcoming Hotel Magnate. I feel it would add a great deal more depth to this game:

- More realistic elevator shafts requiring multiple shafts to adequately service the building as it grows, and wait times for people wanting an elevator.

- It would allow greater control over the style of each apartment, store, restaurant, office etc. Example you could directly control the size of each apartment, put furniture in some to be sold fully furnished, and others with just the essentials like water, gas, electricity. You could also rent some apartments out, and sell some. You could allow people to create templates for apartments, offices etc, similar to what has been done in Project Hospital so once you have a layout you like you can just copy/paste it to speed up building.

- Although the wiring and pipes for the various services was a nice step forward from SimTower, it would be nice to see that done better. For example, the placement of the main wiring panels, and pipes would be more important in a realistic 3D building.

- Creating spaces for public transport links would also be made more complex in a 3D building, I'd also prefer to have to lay the road, and make space for the tracks for trains/metro.

- It would be nice to see more animation of things like transport, seeing buses come and go, same for trains and metro, and helipad on roof tops.

SimTower was a good game (I know you guys were not aware of that game), but it also had its flaws, Project Highrise did make some genuine improvements on some areas even if you didn't realise it. Still I think if you're striving to create a game that gives people an idea of what it would be like to construct and manage a Highrise then it would be more realistic in a 3D building. I think that would attract more people to this sub genre of builder/tycoon games, you might get a lot of crossover from games like The Sims, and Project Hospital.

Hi! We'd love to do a follow up at some point. Right now, we're deeply involved in our next game and hope to share info about that soon. But definitely hope that the time comes for a sequel at some point. Maybe after the game we're currently building.

(And we were very much aware of SimTower - we played a lot of it when it came out and revisited it while we were making Highrise.)

Are there any more planned updates and DLC for Project Highrise?

I'm a potential player who loved SimTower as a kid. I'm reading through the reviews and it seems that all the negative reviews are centered around the same thing - the lack of challenge with elevators. Given the current sale price, I'm likely going to buy it anyway, but I hope that you can address the realism issue with elevators.

It was one of the more challenging aspects of SimTower, especially as you grew to the point that you hit your maximum number of shafts. It also gave the player a lot to do to manage the schedules, skipping floors, etc.
