All my office services are out of controll really. I need way too many for the amount of office workers I have.
Thing is: I've been working on a tower where I'm trying for the first time to mix offices, residences and hotel. It's been a lot of work, so I'm taking my time. What's been happening is file storage and bottled water services have consistently been getting overloaded, even though no new offices or location moves have happend for many hours (in RL). While I'm planning what I'm gonna do next, erasing and replanning the new construction and alocations, without adding or taking any more offices away, both services keep getting clogged repeatedly, no matter how many I add without adding more offices. It's just a matter of time, not how many offices. In a building that worked like clockwork for a long (in game) while until a certain point, which is even weirder.
I mean, how come both services get more and more demand if I didn't add any more offices to create the need? And then I tried adding more of the services and still they keep getting overloaded after some more playtime, even though I still haven't added any new offices? That sounds crazy but that's how my save game has been going.
If you can shed some light on the matter I'll be very grateful. Thanks in advance!
The service elevator is used by all service workers, not just hotel staff. You don't even need to build a hotel to install it - just build a small hotel lobby, then build the service elevator.
Your service workers are then able to respond much faster to service calls (such as bottled water), as they aren't being held up waiting for elevators/elevator repairs.
Not sure if this will work for you, but ever since I started installing service elevators, my services demands are MUCH more sensible now!
Thanks for your reply and suggestion, I'm going to try that soon. I ended up by giving up that tower, starting two different ones and giving them up too, since that problem happened over and over. Maybe with your way of solving it I'll be able to have fun with PH again! Happy new year!
