Service elevators...
I have noticed that placing service elevators right above each other is not a requirement.
I don't suppose these elevators will stil work if they are not on a common shaft, will they? If so, I think it would be better if you could only build a service elevator above/under an already existing one.

I tested this yesterday -- the placement extends the shaft upward one floor.... if you skip floors it starts a new shaft which doesn't connect to the shaft underneath it.

Teleportation and horizontal cabin transport are not in plans yet.

So no, they do not connect if they are not aligned or if you skip a floor, you get a new elevator. Good thing is the service elevator only need to cover floor with offer or demand, so don't built hotel on 45th floor with services on B6 level, or you need to spend space and money to connect between for no reasons.

This is really annoying. I wish there was a cheap (no maintenance cost) 'elevator shaft' item that would connect floors.

Either as an object that can overlap with regular rooms/services, or if that's not possible, just a flat wall that can have decorations but nothing else.
