donut shop problem
i recently started playing this game, and its a lot of fun. so far, i havent gotten very deep into the game, i'm still toying with improving my early game. i started a new game today, and i'm doing pretty good, except for one problem that keeps coming up. the restaraunts are really confusing. by now, i've figured out that there is coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but i cant get my tenants to acknowledge the fact that there is a donut shop that serves coffee and breakfast. my subshop, which does lunch gets 50 customers a day while the donut shop gets only 2. i have tenents that say they wonder where they can get coffee. It seams like they just dont know about the donut shop, or they dont like getting coffee there, or some other thing i dont know about.

an explanation about why they would or would not want to go to the donut shop would be good, and appreciated. i would also love to know what restaraunts i should build / not build, and when to build what. additionally, i really hate when i want to build something, but it requires a greater variaty of restaraunts, but it doesnt say what kind they want.

The issue is the time of day their desire to have coffee comes into play. Your donut shop has specific hours of operation, and anyone that wants coffee during that time period will go to it. The problem stems from people wanting coffee during lunchtime after the donut shop has closed, or even earlier in the morning before it's opened for business.

The solution is to find a lunch place that also serves coffee, as well as to open an all night diner which caters to the night owls, offering coffee and breakfast at earlier hours than the donut shop serves. This should fix the problem for you.

Haha. It's an easy assumption to make early on. Like, you're staring at the store that offers coffee, how can they complain about not being able to find any? haha. Definitely understandable. But yeah, that's what this place is here for, helping each other figure these things out. :)
