Doesn't look like Castlevania

It looks OK but not like a Castlevania game. Not in the art style, not in the combat or how the characters move. They should have called it something else or stayed more true to the history of the series. Bloodstained looked more like an actual Castlevania than this....

Castlevania is no longer Castlevania. I don't quite know what this is. Last good Castlevania game is actually another IP entirely (Bloodstained series). Pour one out for the death of one of the best series of all time.

Art direction is very bland

On one hand I am glad we're getting a new 2D Castlevania. On the other... this doesn't look like Castlevania. The visuals are entirely uninspired. I'm disappointed but not entirely surprised. I think Konami should have put a lot more thought and resources into bringing the visual direction in line with the wider franchise. They also hired some devs that have worked on *some* content for Dead Cells, but it's not the main game's development team. Overall, they don't have much of a track record. So even on...
