Report a translation problem
It is very rarely for surprise factor. It is generally better for marketing to announce things earlier. Almost always it is because things are never set-in-stone until they're done. Things can fail right up until the last minute.
It would be pretty lame if we said "yeah, we're working on the X port / DLC" and then a couple of months later "the Y didn't work" or "the Z fell through, and we've had to shelve it".
(Also, any or all of X, Y and Z could be covered by a non-disclosure agreement, particularly when it comes to consoles.)
