hmmm could this be my problem

I've been playing almost exclusively Bruno and Rudy.
They could stand to be made easier to manage, get some balance tweaks here and there.

I just wish grab moves were better and worth using. :/

top to bot

glen paul provie - fast attack great damage pretty much one combo = one shot

wes - quite fast attack ez air combo starter but feel weaker then top 3s.

bruno - fun and dynamic, but basic combo string doesnt connect due to hit back and attack speed is really slow. a lot of time im relying on acrotactics kick/ hop elbow

rudy/mike/alex/ryan - didnt tried yet but rudy does have slower attack then bruno so sounds hard

chris - idk what the fieuk i do with this

Your dead on about Bruno, I haven't used any other character yet but yup...you nailed it lol

I wouldn't say Provie is easy to use, she lacks the ability to hit foes when they are on the ground, thats a MAJOR disadvantage, if you ask me.
(no you can't count wounded knee, that move is BS)

The double jump saves you headaches and wasted money on energy drinks.
you only really get the nasty combos once you have all her string moves and special deviants.
And even then you have to know how and when to use them.
Id say all chars are on the same level, it all depends on playstyle and what you're comfortable with.
OP char is useless in the hands of a person that can't use it effectively,

She really doesn't need to and good luck hitting enemies on the ground Act 2 and beyond without getting your ♥♥♥♥ pushed in.

Her strength is her special as it completely destroys enemies. Just throw a kick out to hit confirm into special, P into her tumble and finish it with her spin kick. It's really not that hard and it's incredibly reliable, even vs clones that end up blocking 99% of the time.

Right now I'm working on a save file with all the characters maxed before I head into new game plus. Here's my initial impressions.

S+ tier:
Ryan: He's simply the best character in the game. His ability to accro circus off a jump makes it incredibly easy to plow through mobs by pianoing J into S for a straight ball of ♥♥♥♥ you. Out of SP? Well he has the best dash opener in the game as well with his bicycle kick into whatever your heart desires. I have a feeling speedrunners will favor this character for those bonuses alone.

A Tier
Paul: He's fast allowing enemies little time to react once the difficulty hits act 2 and beyond. Any grounded enemy is quickly dispatched with his ability to repeatedly hit them with little down time.

Provie: She's a little challenging to get going but once you have access to her special, enemies will fall before you without much effort other than hit confirming. Once you have access to her followup, you'll be able to dispatch almost all enemies in one continuous chain, only having to camp their body until they recover to do it over again.

Alex: All around well balanced character with various options available.

B Tier
Glen: His limited range earns him this spot under everyone else. He has a lot of tools but is limited late game. People overvalue this guy.

C Tier:
Mike: His string into his one inch punch earns him this spot. Underwhelming as a character but still a fun character to play. Grabs being utterly useless hurts this character overall

D Tier:
Bruno: No real redeemable qualities with this one. His special is bad and he uses those grab things that don't do a hell of a lot. You'll be slow to clear out late game mobs and will likely wish you'd be playing another character. Pity.

F Tier:
Rudy: Rudy, Rudy, Rudy, Rudy. Come act 2 when things ramp up this character, who relies heavily on grapples will be utterly useless. Even with his Lariat, his ability to connect vs enemies that can run backwards as fast as you or dart in and out will make you sad when you whiff and your whole energy bar is depleted making you have to run back and forth hoping to connect with a wild dash attack that has a ridiculous amount of recovery. This character is incredibly slow as well, making herding an impossible task. Grab attempts are usually met with your opponent jumping and hitting you for your troubles. Slow attacks, insane recovery makes this character for people who would rather be playing a 36 hour jrpg. ♥♥♥♥ Rudy.

If Glen didn't have super easy air juggles, I wouldn't be valuing him as much in the endgame as I do, yeah. Whether it be Soldiers, Abobo, or Slick they all get treated like hackey sacks.

Essentially, my mindset for Glen is the same as the "Hit confoim, profit" mindset held for Provie above. So I won't say he's "Better" than Provie there, even if I will say he's not worse either.

Land a hit, laugh as you air juggle people to death. Throw a fireball, abuse the "It's not Input reading" AI making several enemies all jump over it at once, and air juggle 3+ enemies to death at once.

I admit "Spam Acro circus, profit" for Ryan while damn strong, makes me wonder where the chili dogs are sold, and why people are dropping coins instead of rings. Hard to fault it's effectivness though.

I'd put Glen at very, very high personally. I didn't even get Blustery Kick (don't need it) and was able to breeze through the game in one playthrough.

Like, this is what I have right now that I routinely use:
Gut Kick, Palm Strike, Goal Kick and Groggy Kick.

He even starts out with an air combo for the final boss.

FYI: For some reason PP hitconfirms into grab. Just P and AI can dodge, but PP? Nope, you get grabs for free. Pummel with P, and if you have Groggy finish with a K, run up and use a Goal Kick in the first few frames they're down to start the juggle. (Even worse, if you get the corner, you just use K instead to restand them and get PP for free - I think only Dr.D can escape using teleport and on Story diff he won't do it every time.)

I'm actually looking at speedrunning this game and Glen'd be my choice right now just because of how much he can do with minimal effort. You don't need to grind for anything since you'll have either just enough money for what you need (You can get Gut Kick/Palm Strike when you reach their respective dojos, Goal Kick requires a detour (mostly because you don't have the level to get it first time around) and you get Groggy when you go confront Slick for the first time which is a very minor detour - beyond that you just tag story objectives)

Rudy'd be my lowest ranked - I've tried to make him work, and I've come up with some stuff, but he gets beat too easily in crowds. But Tornado DDT, Mud Stomp, K, Grab is free vs. solo enemies.

At least Rudy has aoe - lariat to farm mobs. Bruno has nothing but poison spit which is only useful in juggles or catching someone on wakeup.

S Tier - Glen / Ryan / Paul -

Glen has a natural juggle, and being able to end any target combo into Tatsu helps out a ton.

Ryan pretty much has an extremely solid set of normals, and acrobatic circus does a fair chunk
of damage when it comes to juggling.

Paul can set up a mob when it comes to OTG set ups. His target combo if done right can send entire teams down on the floor, pair that up with down punch being it's own combo itself, and you'd see why he's able to take out people retardedly.

A - Wes / Chris / Alex

Wes has a retardedly high skill cap, but he can set up infinites if you know how to loop Upper into Mantis Knee with him. He doesn't do much damage, but he's so quick that once he gets in, it's pretty hard to stop.

Chris is an interesting gimmick. When she's outside of Geiger counter, she has to rely on charging all of her attacks, which can get jabbed out of pretty easily. But once she's in Geiger counter all of her charge moves can be chained pretty easily, her headbutt rekka does enough to one combo most grunts. Otherwise, most of her moves are pretty gimmicky to begin with.

I like Alex a lot, and he's got a natural juggle from his kick target combo. But he can't really find a way to exploit the juggle, or on a downed opponent properly. But he hits like a grown ass man so, I guess it kind of works?

B - Pavie / Bruno

I honestly think it's a bunch of waifu kids playing Pavie. A lot of her set ups end abruptly short, and she doesn't have the same juggling potential that Glen does, but with how fast she hits, you can do a fair amount of hit stun set ups. But other than that, she's... not that great.

Bruno is interesting. A lot of players try to play him as a grappler, because he's a luchadore, but he's definitely an aerial combat character. Unfortunately, RCRU doesn't really cater to aerial combat as much as the game would like it to, his air grab is cool, but no one's going to really jump. His jab target combo is cool because it sets up a stun for poison mist, while the kick target combo down's a person or sets them up for a juggle at a corner. But really, Poison Mist is why I put Bruno at B Tier and not higher. That move alone makes it so Bruno can mob entire teams with no issue, aside from maybe the opponent blocking it during a jab set up. But it really does make him.

C - OG Alex / OG Ryan -
They're solid, but honestly you should be playing Ryan if you want this playstyle.

D - Mike / Rudy

Mike is a walking gimmick and meme machine.

Rudy has virtually no priority on his normals and doesn't do any damage from grab set ups. Unless you want to spend hours getting coins for Lariat, it's pretty hard to make him work. Like I want to like Rudy, since I like wrestling moves in general, but he's in an extremely bad spot right now.

i'm play chris right now she have strong and hard hit combo but the deverloper mess up her normal combo becos of her charge attack
the only way to use her combo now is find a hole and jump down until she start enrage then go eat some food to regain ur hp then u can start to use her combo like
ppp
pppkk
pkk
kkk
when she is enrage every hit count as charge atk while have fast speed and she hit like a truck
my chris is lv 18 atk with max 42 str she do 24 hp per hit
her pppkk combo kill anything while have good cc
still grinding her to see how much str she could have but her special is kind of mess up atm the only thing i can use is up+s can use again last boss or down + s for some cc but she dont have good damage with special and her energy regen is slow i how they fix her
also once she is enrage dont ever go bath becos it ll wipe out enrage effect

Since this isn't really a fighting game where characters abilties are static, I almost think it would be more helpful to have 2 tier lists. One for "Early-mid game" and "End game" i.e. a character like Rudy might be great end game, but good god are they awful for a long time.

I think John posted max stats somewhere else on this board and at max level Chris caps out at 63, same as Rudy.
