Was there ever a translation for the Japanese version of the original RCR?

That is, an English-translated version of the Japenese story of Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari.

I feel like when I started looking it'd be 100% easy to find one to enjoy the original story and no friendly-fire but I'm being proven wrong.

Ugh, was hoping to co-op through it so was specifically hoping for NES. I wonder why no team ever bothered to translate it, feels kinda weird with all the other translations for Kunio games.

honestly, there wasn't alot of story to be re-translated. like, literally 3 paragraphs of text in total. as far as i know, the storyline wasn't really changed significantly during localization. they more or less just got rid of the rival high schoolers aspect & put everyone in t-shirts.

i suggest checking out river city ransom ex on the gameboy advance instead, it's a sweet remake & expansion of the game that adds alot of personality to the bosses & npcs. and everyone is still in their japanese highschool uniforms too.

edit: ah, i see you're looking for something co-op. gameboy isn't gonna help you there. have you tried 'shin nekketsu koha kunio tachi no banka' on super nintendo? it's a fine beat-em-up with co op and alot more storyline than you'd expect.
