Where am I supposed to go?
I have spent around 2 hours wandering aimlessly around town and can't seem to find the marked locations on the map. I have beaten Pink Bee and the guy with the robot in the arcade. When I check the world map it tells me to go to Riverside bridge, but there doesn't seem to be anything there.

The fence on the far left side of the bridge, hop over it.

Great, thanks. I actually tried to jump off the side of the bridge on multiple spots, but somehow managed to completely miss the fence.

They need to implement some kinda compass that points to areas of interest while playing the game. Arrows were used in NES games, they were there for a purpose, to let you know when to advance and where to go. Since this is free roam, its definately needs it. Obviously implement it with the option to disable it for the people that dont want it.

I don't think so. However, they should make point of interests stand out a little more. This fence looked more like it was just part of the backdrop, whereas the vent you had to go through right in the beginning of the game was visibly shaking and clearly stood out as an object of interest. This inconsistency confuses me a little.

That is the funny thing about this, I don't think this is so much a "they didn't set up way points cause they forgot them" as much as this is following old school like the first game. All you had to go on was whatever the post or someone important said and from there you had to find who ever, where ever, whatever! It's old school gaming with little to no hand holding

It's just weird when a game sets up rules by giving the player clear waymarkers in the beginning, and later breaks those rules by having the player comb the entire map for hidden, obscure exits for no reason at all.

There were absolutely no arrows to tell you where to go in the NES game, no map either.

In much earlier versions of the game, some backers (myself included) were very confused on how to get out of the school. It was only semi-recently that Conatus added the vibrating vent and character comment on how noisy it is. Now that a bunch of people are getting confused about how to find Rocko, one would imagine they'll do something about that, too.

...Plenty of other stuff to work on, too, though. This one might not be a high priority.

I meant this genre of games in general. For example Double dragon.
