2. Yes I encountered a great white in the blue sharks scenario, I swam away from the blue sharks to explore the ocean and came across one.
first he didn't really seem to know what to do with me (unlike the angry one from the cage scenario) but after 10 seconds he suddenly turned around and bit me in the butt.
And I'm not sure but I think I saw a great white in the dinosaur scenario thingy.
Megalodon (largest shark and predator in history, basically Jaws) can be found in the Mosasaurus habitat. Again, they will attack near surface in open water.
I mean, by the time we're swimming in a Mosasaurus habitat, my suspension of disbelief has been stretched far enough to very easily accept the concept of a shark not attacking me (especially as nothing else in the game does). If there was some game setting / mode that would make this possible, I'd love it. I love Ocean Rift and it would enrich the experience even more for me.
Besides, while I can't speak for Megalodon (of course), there's plenty of people who swim with Great Whites in open water. Yes, they're experts, but again, it's not unheard of. Great Whites, after all, usually only attack humans in cases of mistaken identity; we're not on their list of prey.
All I'm saying is ... in a game that involves time travel (of a sort) and rings that explode into fireworks (most literally), and a game that has such a strong focus on education, exploration, awe, and wonder, I think an OPTIONAL setting that perhaps stops the sharks from registering your presence and through that stops them from attacking - so I can admire them in peace, too - might be justifiable.
