Issues While Playing on PC Laptops

People often report the game runs slowly or even crashes when they play it on their laptop. This might be caused because your computer uses it's integrated Intel GPU instead of Dedicated Graphics Card. If you have these issues and laptop with Dedicated GPU, please try this or similar procedure to enforce using the Dedicated GPU while playing Samorost 3.

NVIDIA Cards:
1. Go to the NVIDIA Control Panel by right clicking on your desk top and clicking on "NVIDIA Control Panel".
2. In the default screen that pops up (it should be "manage 3D settings", and the "Program Settings" tab should be automatically selected), under "1. Select a program to customize:" hit the "Add" button.
3. From here, navigate to the folder where your steam games are located. For me, it is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common.
4. Select the folder for the game you want to use your NVIDIA card for, and find the .exe for that game (it's usually right in the main game folder). Select it and hit open.
5. Then, under "2. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:" open the drop-down menu and select "High-performance NVIDIA processor".
6. Finally, hit apply in the far bottom right corner, and you should be good to go!
When you start the game from Steam, the .exe will be opened, which will now run with your NVIDIA card by default rather than your integrated card.

I have a mac mini 5.1 with an Intel GPU and Samorost 3 crashes constantly, rendering the game completely useless, is there anyway to overcome this problem ?

Consistant crashing every time character finishes playing horn. Yosemite, 10.10.5, AMD Radeon 6870. Tried disabling steam cloud, repairing cache files. Crash report mentioned a Graphics kernel crash.

I am also having consistent crashing, often (but not always) when playing the horn. For the first two hours into the game I had only a rare crash, but now it's every screen or two. Bad crashes, too; my machine often restarts itself or simply freezes entirely. Macbook Pro running El Capitan 10.11.6, 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB.

Ok, now I know the reason why it's crashes so often - this happenes only when You trying play the horn at the same place again and again )) just stop doing it and go forward!! :) game crashes sometims but NOT so often and only when I'm playing the horn. Now I think that this happenes only at the end of horn playing scenes - incorrect Steam/Samorost pop-up notification window appears just for 1/10 second and crashes the game.
So, maybe Amanit can fix this soon.

The game also crashes frequently on my imac 12,2 with an AMD Radeon HD 6770M

Same issuse here, crashing after playing the horn. Running osx el capitan on an i5 with Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB.

I had messaged the developers but no reply as of yet. Ruining the experience of the game with these crashes. Hope a fix is released soon.

Guys, looks like Amanita fixed that. Yesterday Steam updated something (didn't notice if it was Steam or Samorost), BUT now game plays without crashes And yes, I'm playing on Mac.

Yes it worked for me since the last steam update. Looks like a bug when samorost communicates with the steam client. Now everything ist ok, i could finish the gema without any problems. Nice Work :)

Same complaint as other Windows 10 Users in other some other threads, but since this is pinned and deals with PC Laptops I'm posting here. With Windows 10 simply blank screen after splash screen with logo. The cursor icon changes depending on its placement on the screen, and clicking probably does something (musical cue changes), so the game seems to be running but the screen generates no image. Shift+Tab causes another change in cursor icon, so I think the steam in-game layer is popping up but again, no image.

On my laptop I can experiment with adjusting the 3D settings in some form or fashion (Performance v. Quality) in display settings, but so far it has had no effect.

Processor Information: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz

Operating System Version: Windows 10 (64 bit)
NTFS: Supported

Video Card:
Driver: Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000

What system information (other than or in addition to the above) does the developer need to help them diagnose such a possible bug?

Hi :)
First screen of the game is black, can hear music though and the cursor changes shape from time to time... tried to force the game using my gpu. like also described above, but it won't take it, instead it uses intel graphics.
Playing on a laptop with nVidia geforce GT540M... any suggestions?

After put garlicky thingie in teapot and the game froze w/ message.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION - Dont even attempt to put garlicky in teapot since stange things are afoot
