What are locations that are free of creatures?
I get it, that I'm supposed to find a place to put a shelter up. But sadly, the workbench isn't good enough to make walls or floors or doors anymore. So I can't pre made them before I find a location. I had that plan, to make some floors and walls before I find a spot to stay. But can someone please, be kind and tell me in general good locations to settle? Like, find the beach or another location? Even screen shots would help me out. And since the treadmill is massive, I'm gonna need a lot of side land to place my treadmill.

Currently, my starter chicken & I are in the ruins at the start. I have made a chest for extra supplies, like foods in large amounts, logs, saps, glowing mushroom, torch, and a whistle. Also I have a workbench. I've restarted so many times, because of the danger the ruins been when I've stayed there too long :C Other creatures check out the place and my creature and I get ruined. And PLEASE can someone tell me if I die without a bed, can I respawn or not? How important is the bed now? Is it a respawn item still? Please. help.

I like the beach behind the first temple. but the front of temple sounds great too!
Remember being close to water so you can water your crops regulary!

Bed makes your respawn point- with no bed you will respawn in the starting temple.

Okay. I'll see about that. Thank you.

When you are ready to travel a little bit further from the first temple (1st armor + Mace & stuff)
there is a large island and a smaller one behind it that I use.
To find them; from the entrance of the first temple go NortWest and start following the beach until you hit another biome which has pumpkins and harvestable bushes in it.
When you hit the edge of the two biomes the islands should be pretty close by, just keep following the coastline.

Now a bit of precaution though, the first bigger island inhabits some creatures, and there are some creatures that can access the island due to their long legs. So you have to do some clearing up first. The smaller island behind the first one is free of creatures.

Another downside is the long distance you have to travel especially from the small island to the mainland each time, But I dont recommend building a bridge in the beginning, youre safer and less disturbed that way. Unless you want to have a creature with you at all times.

So the smaller island far from the mainland can be a bit tedious to travel to each time, but atleast it will serve as a safe haven if the ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan because nothing spawns in there and it is surrounded by deep water.

And the bigger island is massive, even the small one has a lot of room.

Poachers can spawn on the bigger island if you only use one of the sides, the island is oval shaped. But poachers are pretty easy to squish anyway.

I moved there once I had stealthily taken the second artifact without the boss noticing me.

Thanks. But I can't make armor or weapons without advance crafting shops, like the workshop and the treadmill. So I have no idea how I can make early armor, unless I can trick untamed creatures to run on the treadmill. Seriously the treadmill is so massive, it neatly takes up the whole ruins. The only weapon I got is a hoe, a gardening tool. And I can't find any iron ore.

Yea I know, I meant it for later when you have all that stuff. And forget about Iron Ore for now,
it comes relevant alot later, even long after getting the second artifact.

You can place the treadmill and workshops inside the temple along outside of the circular center.
Make a fence outside to the entrance of the temple and make it two fences high with gates.

Just ignore the striders for now, if they kill your pet make one just in time for treadmilling and disassemble it afterwards, I know it's sucks bollocks but work with what you have.

To make the first armor you need the wooden workshop (first workshop made in the workbench)
You can also make the club (which I called mace, and got it wrong) in that same workshop.

A hoe is a good starting weapon, and it is cheap to make. Also before that whack em with a Sap
it lasts forever.

To get the first armor (top priority over the club) get 5 llama hairs and 5 sheep bodies, the shore east from the entrance of the temple have creatures that drop them.

Then to get the Club, wait for the first raid which are sheeps with goat horns and then slaughter them. You need 4 goat horns and one Log to make the Club.

After getting those two equipments you can take your revenge on the striders.

I guess that's why Iron ore is so rare now. In the past, it was so common, now it's mostly silica? The light blue ores now. I'm very new to the whole starting in a temple. I could see where I can place the treadmill, but it's so massive :p it's hard to find a safe area to place it down. Does the wooden workshop have to be in touching contact with the treadmill to get powered? Or can they be placed apart, my chicken runs on it & the wooden workshop gets power?

And how do I whack my hoe with sap?

I think getting sheep parts will be easy. I've been randomly attacked by a twirling ram-sheep creature. Seriously XD it came out of nowhere, bounced off of me (hurting me), twirled away, and twirled back hitting me again, and finally left twirling. It was crazy, but funny when I saw it twirling. But that was a different save that I didn't keep around.

What are striders?

I never heard of striders. But I know I can't be spotted by some creatures, (mostly dog creatures) they had chased me in the past. So whenever I heard a dog, I sneak away and then RUN.

If it's not too much trouble, could you take a screenshot of where I could place the wooden workshop threadmill at the starting temple. And I'd love to build a fence to hold back creatures from the temple, but I can't make fences with the workbench anymore :C

The workshop does not need to be in touch contact with the treadmill just close by.

Yes it gets powered when you assing a creature to the treadmill and assign a work to be made
on the workshop.

HAHAHAHAHA my bad I worded it wrong
The sap lasts forever, you can use it to get a small damage boost before you get a hoe or if your
weapons break.

A twirling ram-sheep? never seen one myself, but sounds crazy.

In my world striders always spawn, by them I mean two types of creatures with long legs, I cant remember their names properly now but theyre tall chkn with giraffe legs or elephant legs.

I would have to start a new game to show you the locations to place the fences and structures.
Maybe later but not right now.

I hope I can find more resources. But I'm too scared to travel out with my chicken cause I don't know how tough the wild creatures are. Thanks for explaining about the placements of the wooden workshop and the treadmill. I don't know how to add sap to things, unless it requires sap to be made. :p Yeah, it was a twirling cyclops ram-sheep. I bet you'll see one eventually. I don't know why it was twirling. It was like twirling in place, but also moving around. It sounded like a sheep, white like one too, but it had curly ram horns on it. I had killed it because it was annoying me and entering my temple. Oh, okay. Yeah, there's a lot of giraffe legged creatures around the temple, or just tall creatures in general. I didn't wanna bother you if screen shots were too much of a problem. I'm not super eager to get into the game so whenever you can you can get the screen shots. There's no rush. Can I ask you about the bed? Is it super important at the start? I know I can sleep through nights using the bed, but I don't know if it has respawn ability still. Cause, before I find a safe location to live, I want to make a bed so if I die along the way I could respawn there.

Can we be friends please?

The bed helps you pass the night, but for making a spawn point it's unnecessary until you move out of the temple. Its a good thing to have, so that you dont need to wait out the nights, otherwise it is not essential in the very beginning.

You dont add sap to things, you use it as a melee weapon, sorry for not being clear enough.
It has +10 melee damage, and it does not break.

And yes the bed has the ability to set a respawn point. When you place the bed and set the respawn point, you will be revived there if you die.

You dont need to be really that worried about the creatures around the first temple, there are hardly any aggressive ones. If it has a dog mouth it propably is agressive, otherwise theyre safe, I think. Just dont travel too far north and you will be fine.

You can harvest saps from trees such as rubber tree and later birch trees, other ones I havent
encountered.

Thanks :D

There are some good tips rolleroboy! Don't be afraid to walk and check what animals are good and what are not - that's part of the game- when you die just go other way! And remember - bigger creature can scare smaller animals!
