StarBreak version 1.4 is now on Test Server
As always, the test server is located at test.starbreak.com. Assuming no game-breaking issues are found, this will be applied to the live servers on Monday.

Patch notes have also been posted (these were adapted from the Crunchy Games forum announcement):

  • Improve database writing
  • Clear input when opening a menu (should prevent shells from running in a given direction when you open a menu while running)
  • Rate limit input (auto key repeat no longer allowed)
  • Fix issue with controller sticking
  • Player and ally ships are different colors somewhere
  • More hats!

Ironclad
  • Hammer swing SFX will not play for other players

Fungus Cave
  • Improve performance of Darter Spawners

Graveyard
  • Fix issue that caused doors to appear to be hovering

Star Cathedral
  • Spirit Hive now does touch damage

I might be missing something, but I never saw 1.3

You can find all patch notes at crunchy.com/?q=forums/announcements/

EDIT: Whoops, actually patch 1.3 was directly shipped to live servers on the last Friday of May, skipping the test server entirely. Not a whole lot changed, though, with that patch, as you will see if you follow the above link and look at the notes yourself.

Just asking, is there really a point in improving netcoding for the game?

I played on an EU server, and despite having what appeared my client being delayed for a solid second or two, it did not affect my game experience (as in teleporting mobs, etc.)

Yes.

Many players have reported randomly losing items and shells as well as very long loading screens and random disconnects. Loading screens can be up to 5 minutes, but then most people just refresh the page before then.
Crunchy games has reported that this is a result of the servers running out of memory or something like that.

Since you are playing on an EU server, there may be less people on one given server at a time. If you were to play on US West, the most populated server, you may experience many disconnects and lag while playing with 40 people per mission.
