It's mission driven so no real open world or randomly generated calls, you select the mission on the map and you unlock the new ones with xp points.
The drive it's the most divisive aspect of the game, as much i love driving in game, here i personally think it's the least fun implementation, luckily a user posted his 100% save files so i can freely play every mission.
The mission variety itsn't that big, you have some master ambients, a couple of factory and some hoods houses, some missions are fixed and other have a seed generator that randomize the starting fire, number and position of survivors, but most of the missions are pretty similar and in the long run you'll might miss some variation.
But in the end it's pretty fun and as i said the water/fire simulation it's incredibly detailed and realistic, the fire feels hot and dangerous and it propagate in a convincing way.
I was on the fence from a long time 'till i decided to buy it, and i don't regret.
As is the drive it's a waste of time and makes almost no sense, especially if you're playing solo and you end on an quick extinguish mission after a 10 minutes drive.
