Common bugs and solutions FAQ (READ ME FIRST BEFORE MAKING A NEW THREAD)
I've been meaning to make this thread for awhile now since many of the issues that people run into in this game have been posted here before, so this is a good place to start (or a place I can just point people to) if they have one of the following problems:

I WANT TO ERASE MY SAVE

If for whatever reason you want to erase your progress in the game entirely, either due to skipping the dialogue that allows you to change your name, or if the game is crashing when trying to load a corrupted save, or for some other reason, here is how you can do so.

1) Turn off steam cloud sync (this is IMPORTANT since the following steps will not work otherwise)
2) Navigate to your oneshot folder in your AppData (filepath should look something like "C:\Users\GIR\AppData\Roaming\Oneshot" but replace GIR with your PC account name)
[Note: AppData is a hidden folder, so you may need to enable viewing hidden folders to access this directory if you want to navigate to it through file explorer]
3) Delete save.dat and p-settings.dat
4) Delete the save_backups folder
5) Launch the game
6) Save the game at some point
7) Turn steam cloud sync back on

THERE'S GREEN LINES ON THE GAME WINDOW

This normally happens when the game is running on an integrated intel graphics card. First you should confirm what graphics card you are using with dxdiag (hit the Windows key, type "dxdiag" and it should be the first result, the dxdiag command).

The window should look like this, but instead of NVIDIA it should say something like "Intel(R) HD Graphics Family".

If you've confirmed that you're using an intel integrated graphics card at this point, then you should download and install the updated beta Intel graphics driver which fixes this issue.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19387/intel-graphics-beta-windows-dch-drivers.html?

Once you've installed the driver, restart your computer. Then when you run the game again the issue should be fixed.

THE GAME FREEZES SHORTLY AFTER LEAVING THE START HOUSE

If the game freezes when you go outside into the Barrens for the first time (it will show a full screen image and the music will change, but the game will be stuck) then here's some known solutions for this issue:

1) Update your graphics drivers. How this is done may depend on what graphics card is on your machine, so you may have to google how to do this.

If updating your graphics drivers doesn't work, another solution is:
(Note: this solution assumes you have 2 graphics cards on your machine)

1) Right click an empty spot on your desktop, the option should show up in the drop down.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1337920621

2) Then you should be able to see this screen. Click the "Program Settings" tab, and then click "Add".
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1337921990

3) In the Add window, hit the "Browse" button and browse to this directory to find oneshot.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\OneShot

4) Then, back in the "Program Settings" tab, set the preferred graphics processor for the program. Preferably to the NVIDIA card, but if that doesn't work, then to another card you might have (like an Integrated card)

I MISSED THE VIAL OF WATER IN THE GLEN AND I CAN'T REGROW MAIZE/THE KERNEL, HOW DO I CONTINUE?

You don't need to regrow Maize to beat the game. Regrowing Maize is an optional quest. Explore the Refuge area more to progress.

I will continue to update this post as more issues become common.

1) I have a similar problem, but the game freezes and crashes when I exit the game. I have a PC and a laptop, and the problem manifests itself in different ways. In fact, I was not able to identify clear patterns of game freezes, it always happens in different ways.
I will list some of these:
- Before a new game, in the main menu, if you press Exit: on the PC the game freezes only once;
on a laptop the game freezes constantly, but if you switch the game to the NVIDIA graphics card, in the main menu the game no longer freezes.

- After Niko goes to bed: on the PC there is no problem with closing the game;
on the laptop, the game always freezes even if the NVIDIA graphics card for the game is turned on. But after the last update of the game (1 MB) the game does not freezes after sending Niko to bed. I don't know, because of the game update this issue doesn't appear or just a coincidence.

- Closing the game after the credits: on the PC the game freezes;
on the laptop the game did not freezes, but when you first start after deleting the save file from My Documents, the game freezes. On restart the game started without problems.

All cases of hovering occurred only when the fullscreen was on. In windowed mode, I did not see the game freezes.
Anyway, this is not a fatal problem, the game is normally saved. Just not nice.

2) Some graphics issues
I noticed that the clarity of the text and graphics in the game changes. Here are two examples https://imgur.com/a/cmoWBbt, the first (1, 2 pic) is sharper text and graphics, the second (3, 4) is a bit muddy. Clear text appears when some illustrations open in the game, for example, after opening books, the text and graphics become clearer. I did not reveal all the patterns, but at the beginning of the game the graphics and text are muddy and after opening the map the game becomes clearer.
It would not be bad if the graphics and text in the game were always clear.

After Niko wakes up, clear text and graphics are preserved, but if the game closes without beds, it becomes cloudy again.
This happens on Windows 7, on different computers.
I tried changing the settings of the game and the Nvidia graphics card, but that did not help me.

sorry for my English
