and if you use xbox pad, maybe the icon doesn't mean it's possible at that moment. you need torch or bonfire to get finger-tip fire
there will be some moments you can try it.
Ok, it seems to work after loading the controller configuration that is recommended for this game.
Thanks!
They should have made it like a normal adventure game with mouse clicking to interact.
Ok update...
I was using the wrong fire.. I thought the flame next to the cabin was the source I had to interact with.. Didn't even see the outlined area due to high contrast of the yellow flame overpowering the soft white outline.
In Candle library page click on Gear (settings) -> Manage -> Controller configuration -> (new window pops up) -> Browse configs
Note: that doesn't work for me at all, with Playstation 4 controller or Xbox One. I'm very confused with the Steam Input stuff. (Could be a Linux specific issue).
I could then use my XBOX controllers with no further issues with this game.
With steam in Big picture mode:
1. Manage game settings
2. Controller configuration
3. Browse config
4. Select the official for Candle from Recommended section
5. Import Config
Only the Playstation controller marked in the general steam settings.
Fixed it by changing the controller layout:
X button -> S key from keyboard (Im able to pick thing up now)
Y Button -> I key from keyboard (Inventory now opens)
Since I will use the Joysticks and not the DPads I changed them to had the Controls (H Key) and Map (M Key) and also added Esc Key to one of them as the controller was not able to skip the inicial cutcene upon opening the game
Also changed:
LT -> E Key from keyboard
RT -> Tab Key from keyboard
Still a bit clanky but I can chance the tabs of the pause menu.
Hope it helps someone!
Edit: added stuff
I ran around hitting X for like 15 minutes before finally looking up this discussion and others to no avail.
I was about to throw in the towel, but without closing the game,
removed my controller batteries and put them back in.
VIOLA! It worked like a charm!
I had to do this several times, randomly when I would reboot the game, but it worked every time.
Moral of the story is... "Have you tried turning off and on again?"
