Ah, that makes sense. I hadn't done it that way. I came from the bee screen side and dove into the water to avoid a charging Wakcha, then got out and ran past the crossbow and jumped over the button to kill the one...then I could leave the scene by the ladder without the other following me...then I basically went the long way around and used the same route again entering from the bee screen side, and I noticed that the poison dart/arrow was somehow still loaded, so I ran over the button again and killed the second one the same way as the first. I knew the dart being reloaded was a glitch, but wasn't sure if it glitched because I'd done anything incorrectly.
Mentioning this in part if the developers want to fix it, though it's doubtful many others would do it the same way I did. :)
Aha! thanks :)
This drove me crazy, because I managed to kill with the dart just the one that is patrolling, avoiding the sleeping guard...and arriving to a dead end. Problem is that it doesn't seem like a dead end, and you can keep going on with the game for a while.
The game is really nice, but such a dead end is really frustrating, if you were stuck for several hours (I just wanted to find out myself how to solve it). I hope you will save future players from this frustration. ;)
To reproduce: I first sneaked up to place the arrow in the crossbow, candle off. Then I got down again, lit the candle, went back up, killed the patrol guy with the arrow. I saw, that the sleeper was alarmed (and I died from him too a couple of times), but as long as I stayed at the torches, he didn't came for me. After I lit the torches and then went down the ladder, the sleeper either still didn't came after me or (in another try) was to slow to catch me (I had to jump to the platform on the rope to escape) - hope that helps in some way to reproduce the issue.
