You already have structures, planets and trade deals for this.
I don't find scrolling around the map for tasks fun at all. Especially when its every couple of minutes.
Maybe just adding a civilian fleet summary list, where I can assign them tasks from one pop-up or screen. I don't mind choosing the tasks, its just all the scrolling and clicking almost doesn't make using the fleets worth it at all.
Honeslty, I'm almost to the point of not using them. They just don't generate enough resources for me to almost constantly be clicking around the galactic map. I can capture a ship and scrap it for more metal than the civilian fleets generate in a dozen missions.
I totally agree. I'm hoping this can be incorperated into a 'Galactic Overview' screen where you can manage other resources on the map. Like upgrading mines and collectors. I think something similar to Civilization is definitaly needed to help manage the faction as it grows.
It would also be great to add "capture" missions to expand your fleet, or perhaps adding that as a passive option any time your combat fleets encounter an enemy.
