How do I build my fleet?

I saw the option to build ships in the beginning tutorial, but when I go to my starbase I don't see an option in the menus to construct ships for my NPC fleet. What am I overlooking?

Ship construction is done from the starmap.

from the starchart, left click on your starbase, and on bottom left hand side of starmap is a button for build ships..

As state above, once your ships are built, choose your fleet you want to move your new ships to, whilst that fleet is chosen, right click your HQ and you are then able to transfer those ships to the fleet to re-inforce it.

Mercenaries (Hirable Wingmen) will come in a content update when it is ready, we are still currently in Alpha and working in all the content. But your ability to have hired Merc's (Wingmen) will arrive when it's ready to be released.

ohh ok im getting tired being harrased by those 3 ships by HQ and the planet ^^ with the weapons i have on the ships is like trowing peanuts to a mamoth ^^ or however u spell it

Sorry, I didn't understand. Can you elaborate a bit?

what i mean is even during the tutorial was getting harrased by 3 pirate ships near HQ and planet will there be turrets of somesort to protect HQ,bc i put my 2 ship fleet near hq for protection but nothing happens ^^

Fleet features are not fully implemented yet, but yes, your structures will have passive defenses and you will also be able to deploy your fleets as defense, not just conquering force. :)
