Do Titans get more manoeverable?
I just finished the main story line, and started the Titans DLC storyline.
Got the first Titan (gifted to me by the crazy guy) which is a slug and so tedious in battle as to be zero fun and monotonous to the extreme.
Do the other Titans get any faster or easier to fly? The carrier is pretty bad, but I can tolerate it.
If the Titans dont get any better, then I'll just quit and go do conquest.

Thanks for any help!

They have all the same performance, to make up for their crazy firepower.

Man, it sucks, sorry. I coudn't wait to get my hands on a Titan, only to be dissapointed. OP, hope you had fun with the rest of the game.

if you dont mind mods the Annhilaor mod gives you the legion with more weapons and much better manuverability but you do become insanely OP

Thanks for the comments. Being so slow and with such lousy maneuverability makes the Titans hard to keep in the fight, and thus frustrating and not fun.
I enjoyed the rest of the game though....hope I can compete in the conquest without the Titans.

Well, as Geek said, it's about balance. Besides, being way too OP is not fun for very long.

I don't use them either because of the poor handling. I don't see *that* large a difference in offensive performance between a titan and a dreadnaught to justify putting up with the miserable turn rate of the titans. I was pretty underwhelmed by them.

Edited to elaborate - I get not wanting to have titans zorching around like a corvette, but typically a larger ship (in whatever reality) doesn't just have more guns, it has better guns that lower tonnage doesn't allow. The slow turn and acceleration rate of the titans should ideally be offset by increased range of its armament, meaning it relies less on maneuver and more on its big guns. As it is now, the titans have the same offensive range (I believe) as every other ship, but have a harder time bringing that firepower to bear because of their mass.

Titans do have a better range than smaller ships.

RE: Titans do have a better range than smaller ships.

I'll take your word for that as I haven't played in many weeks. Any idea what the percentage increase is? I certainly didn't notice it in game.

For perspective, the current standard 5in naval gun found on most Western frigates, destroyers, and cruisers fires an ~80 pound shell out to 13nm. The main guns of the last battleships in service could throw a ~2500 pound shell out to ~25nm. That is what more ship tonnage allows. I don't see that kind of disparity between any ship and a titan.

I'm certainly not arguing that the devs have to model their game on 20th century naval warship comparisons. I just find the titans' reduced mobility rates to be out of sync with the offensive gains their mass provides.

Titans have a 3500 range bonus.
(Dreads 2750, Carriers 2250).
