Unfortunately, no multiplayer for SPGW. The game has been imagined and made exclusively for singleplayer purposes from day one.
Basically, it would take a huge, massive endeavor in order to make the game engine work for multiplayer :-/ In short, it would be impossible :-(
Nope. It simply wouldn't work. Engine limitations.
SPG3? We haven't announced anything yet :-)
Being able to have such epic battles and conquering gemini with friends or against friends... damn... just damn. :D Could be an option to keep in mind for a possible upcoming game. :X
Might be a little of topic, but the last game that i had the greatest lan-time with was Lord of the rings: battle for middle-earth 2. It had a huge strategic map where armies could be moved but every battle could be fought as a real time battle until eventually a player won. So 1 game could take weeks to finish. Just awesome. :D
i no gaben he will ban u!
Coop would be nice, as always, but it might severely upset the balance of the game!
But really it has more to do with the over competitive and aggressive nature of people, tied into a long standing tradition of trying to be better at things than each other et al. vidya games.
In turn, it is inherent human nature to try and protect your belongings.
I mean, look at DayZ SA. If you were in sucha scenario IRL, you could tell much more about someone's intent by their non-verbal communication. All of that is lost in games, so you're left with always being unsure about someone elses intentions.
It only takes a single person to ruin that fragile balance. Snowball effect afterwards.
With the now focus on killboards and e-peen sizes of killmails and shiny hunting blobs, people don't even talk to you before they kill you.
