Did anyone love to use or don't use a heavy weapons?
Do you use lot or never use?
If you use lot, what is your fav heavy weapons? I know most people flavor railgun for light weapon, but not so much for heavy weapons.

Requiem III, I like it becauses its hard hitting with a slow rof. Good for punching hard at the beginning of a fight or splash damaging a bunch of little ships packed together. With artemis III enhancement you can do a quad volley for 24000 damage with a bonus 4800 radiation damage. Thats if it doesnt crit.

I have a few Polaris launchers that I received as drops and they have a very high DPS (for heavy weapons) against hulls. When I can be bothered to use heavies, those are what I'm shooting at the moment.

Generally, I just rely on drops though (filling heavy slots is my last priority when I'm spending credits) and most of the time, I don't use them at all. Heavies are in a slightly better place DPS-wise now that you can fire them all at once from any angle but they still don't scale very well into the late game and on a controller, it usually doesn't take me long to get sick of mashing the 'Fire' buttons constantly for a relatively small benefit.

I use heavies in every fight, but these days all my fights are huge brawls with multiple carrier, cruisers, battleships, dradnaughts, etc. I use the Polaris heavy which is like 3k max dmg.

Heavy weapons are most useful after you bring enemy shields down so spamming them at the start of the fight might not be as effective as one would hope. ;)

Zeno it is if your blasting groups of Gunships and Corvs, i've launched heavies at the onset of engagmnets and wiped out small groups of gunships in a single salvo. What the heavies didnt finsih of the first volley of railguns did. That being said the best pre-emptive weapon is the Sniper class missile ability, which isnt a weapon but a skill.

Oh, yes, that warhead missile do a job just like real missile unlikey heavy weapon, I wish heavy weapon nearly do what warhead misslie do. But I can't help, I wonder warhead misslie hurt your fleets's small ships.

Heavy Weapons don't scale. They go from being awesome to something I barely bother clicking the hotkey for.

See, Light Weapons scale as you move up to bigger ship sizes because of how you multiply their effect with more turrets. Heavy Weapons have nothing like that. When you're in a Frigate or Destroyer, they easily pack enough of a punch to take out a third or even half of the enemy Hull as a result.

When you move on up, however, they will barely scratch the paint of the enemy Battleship whereas your Light Weapons will blast everything to pieces quite nicely.
