Recomended mods?
HI guys

First off, do mods disable achievements in the game? If not, what are some of your go to mods? I just picked up the game and wanted to now what was out there that was worth while.

Welcome to the SPG community!

Initially I am going to say "Play through the campaign once unmodded" then add as you please.

Most favorite mods seem to be;

and

Be mindful, if a mod isnt kept upto date, it may break your game save on updates to the game. As this is upto the mod maker to keep it current.

I got the one that boosts the amount of resources you get when you actively mine. It makes the game less grindy at the start.

I agree with Tanvaras, i personally went straight to ship mods and i was feeling like i missed out on the uniqueness of the original ships. So i started over and well i think im enjoying the game more now, a lot of the ship mods seem a bit OP, especially the Star wars one due to its new weapons classes.

I do suggest "better civilian fleets". It makes micro managing the civ fleets every minute less tedious. They take longer and get you more reward.

Mods DO NOT disable achievements. No worries there, but outdated mods can crash the game os if you experience any issues with the game, try to disable mods first, that may help. :)

I know this is an old thread, but the first one that comes up when searching the game & mods.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the devs for not disabling achievements when using mods

Also, please keep in mind that some mods may break the game. So please, before pointing a finger to the game when it crashes (or similar), disable the mods, and try again :-)

Thanks

It's a single player game so if you cheat achievements or the game, the only experience you're ruining is yours. So there was no reason to disable achievements in a game that brags about modding freedom. ;)
