What might be the best Battleship?
After steamrolling over everything with my Cruiser Eiras, it seems all battleships seem a bit lacking/underwhelming. According to you guys, what is the best, most powerful battleship that still has a good level of manueverability?

The unique story ship, after that the Saratoga.

Nothing. Get a dread (if you want to make things go boom; Halberd is my pick) or go carrier (if you like seeing things float around you whilst being unsure of exactly what they are doing) ;)

But seriously, BB; for me it was an Odin or Orion.

Damn, just a riddle I am trying to solve right now! All I know is that Orion is not half bad (solid firing arcs) and Reliant has reliable frontload. I will go for Oppenheimer or Orion because of shields but am not convicned about it. I like visuals of Odin but I feel like it will only be a minor upgrade over Eiras.

I also think Saratoga is not bad. I tried them out and reloaded my previous save. It seems for now, Saratoga is probably better since manueverability is important. Others take forever to move on their broadsides, etc. which gets stressful in combat. I wish the lock-on like EVE would have been in place so we did not have to constantly move it around. That is more than half of my battle trying to figure out which side to face.

I am wondering if there is anyway to increase manueverability? The enhancements for speed and manueverability only seem to affect speed. I am using Maxima II. I dont know if that was intended or it is a bug. It may even be a tooltip error. After applying Maxima II if my manueverability has to increase by 25% over 12, it still shows it as 12.

Intendeed I guess. I use the research upgrade because it gives me both speed and maneuverability. Saratoga looks great but only 5k shields over Eiras? Daaaamn! Hardly worth it.

It is only a tooltip error, the enhancement work since the last update.

No complaints with Orion. It's very reliable. Had no issues taking on a halberd with it. Saratoga reminds me of Above and Beyond tv series carriers.

Geek, you recommended Saratoga. Might I ask why? Are the arcs ok, is it versatile or why?

EDIT: Is it about the 8 light weapon turrets on the port side?

I answered that because the OP asked for a good compromise between power and performance.
If you prefer a more tankier approach, Reliant is very good.

I tried out all of them. Saratoga is very easy to handle and maneuver. The speed to move the ship around is better than most battleships, and makes it easy in battle. After using Eiras, the only thing that comes close to the awesomeness of Eiras is Saratoga.

What is the uniqe story ship you mention here? If that is a spoiler don't mention it.

Well, I will let you find out then.

I didn't want to make a new thread so here is a related question:

Is there a reason you can't buy the MK2 ships after you research them?
Mordin Ashe Jun 10, 2017 @ 9:35am
They are only different in weapons installed, and since you can install your own (and better ones at that!) it loses its meaning to let you buy them.
