Illegal commodities never get scanned?
I remember back in SPG 2 if you had illegal goods then you could get scanned or pay a smuggle fee on the planet.Either way you would get away with it or get caught and take a reputation decrease. However I never get scanned in Warlords even though it says I have illegal goods.I just sell them anyways. Is this is bug or a changed mechanic in game?

Oh by the way love the new Trader ui with having added items, systems, equipment all in one.Much better thanks..

Not so sure but it could be a perk that you can get away on anything illegal. I'm not pressing the issue as it benefits me a lot.

Not a perk as i have never once been caught with it in my 12 hours so far. I get something illegal almost every mission to.

I think Concord forces will not scan you, but it is possible elsewhere.

Just beat the game, never got scanned.

Dude you are the best smuggler ever.....or they forgot to put scanning in the game, lol
Since were talking about what's not in the game, could we bring back Licenses at stations.I thought they were cool and gave you something else to spend money on.

Never been scanned anywhere.

Do I get a free DLC for finding this bug or missing feature in the game, lol

It was getting old to be scanned constantly in SPG2 after you accidentally looted illegal stuff in combat. I'd rather have no scanning at all than what it was before.

Wouldn't it make more sense to prevent selling items that are illegal in that area? Otherwise what is the point of illegal goods
gbogy11 Jun 9, 2017 @ 7:13pm
Yeah, that is the point, how ever the devs seem to be sleeping on this subject since I posted it earlier.
The mechanic I assume should be in the game, just like it was in SPG 2 but it must be broken or never implamented.
I agree there shouldn't be illegal goods if the mechanic isn't going to exist.Hopefully we should get a response from the devs.

Yea instead of more scanning I would like to see having to sell to a black market trader specifically. The scanning was very annoying in SPG2.

I wish they added a mechanic like they have in Starsector.

Would make more sense to come in play when you land. With a perk line to deal with smuggling and avoiding getting caught after landing.

Should the Devs implement a strict scanning of illegal items, I still will have a way in selling illegal goods that are looted from derelicts...that is, selling them while in space.
gbogy11 Jun 10, 2017 @ 12:44pm
Well the items you have are illegal in that sector so if there illegal for you then any tradeship in that sector shouldn't accept those goods.
However in a different sector you could sell them and so forth.
The mechanic of illegal goods makes some goods more fun to sell, wich would be considered smuggling and that defines the idea of the difference between smuggler and trader plus you always get more money for smuggling.
The penalty for getting caught would be a fine and or a reputation decline.
I wish they would add a perk or going dark feature, maybe the cloaking device to allow the smuggling and it would be up to you to rememeber what you have and or if you want to play that way.
