Gain benefits from allied installments?
If you actually become allied with a faction (their territory turns green and everything), do you gain any benefit from their installations? For instance, my husband is allied with the Nexus and they have a station that speeds up ship construction. Does his character get that benefit?

As a correlation: If you don't gain anything from becoming allies with other factions, what's the point of playing a lawful character? Roughly 70% of the map is neutral to begin with, making the possiblity of a lawful player gaining resources from anything beyond the 30%-ish of instant enemy territoty slimmer given the propensity to seek alliances rather than conquer.

There is another thread on these boards discussing more diplomacy options - meaning you can either conquer the entire map or ally with most of it while conquering the rest. It seems that having more diplomatic options for lawful characters would be nice.

You do not get the bonuses from stations.
Being allied means easier trade deals and factions quests though. Both can give a lot more than those bonuses.

Thanks for the reply, though having a, say 5% passive bump for allying rather than paying for a (relatively) short trade deal would be kinda cool.

Hi BanzaiRoundCat,

once you complete a faction side quest, the faction which quest you completed will start donating you stuff every once in a while, as long as you keep them allied :).

Hi there Oluja,
That's cool! It will definitely come in handy now that we are getting invaded something fierce. Gotta build up more fleets for defense!
Quick question though, by "donate" do you mean resources and the like? I ask because Materials are a bear to build up and they are used for practically EVERYTHING. I get having a rare resource for, say, shipbuilding. But it's also used for research, and building Concordia, and sending civilian fleets on tasks...so having more of that would be AWESOME. Also being able to sell civilian fleet-gathered ore would be awesome, but that's just me.

Hi again,

with donate I mean resources yes (sometimes ships even).
if you have neighbouring factions which are not enemies and they have stations in your zones or adjacent to your zones, you'll be able to trade with those stations via Civilian Tasks.
By trade I mean sell ore for materials and other...
Also, civilian tasks will be modified on Release, to be better balanced out.
