Structure Raid - Feedback
Hello all,

another feature, another feedback request.
Since Beta, players are now able to Raid structures.
I'm interested in your thoughts about this feature.
So few Questions for you guys:

  1. Do you know what Structure Raids are?
  2. Have you ever raided a Structure?
  3. What did you get from raiding a Structure?
  4. Were you satisfied with the reward?
  5. Do you think raiding structures is worth your time?
  6. Which structures did you raid so far?

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. I mention it depends on weeks they could hoard resources. Often raiding the same structure results in low reward. Waiting longer u get a higher reward. That's right?
4. Yes...
5. Yes...
6. Mines, gas-collectors, junk-reclaimers, orphiel founrdry, prisons... :-)

I think, I like raiding. ^^ I'm a real pirate. Only The prison raid I'm not satisfied. There is another thread I open because of this. All in all not need to change anything for me...

1. Yup
2. when I get the occasion, flyby a raidable structure
3. Increase in production for "transport", immediate ressources if trooper assault (If I remember correctly)
4. I get a bonus on top of whatever I loot from guarding ships : that's a win!
5. It is, probably more so if one mounts multiple targets raiding expedition
6. Mostly production facilities, prisons (to be honest I basicaly try transport/trooper on everything I come across, but since usually in middle of combat, I'm not always clear as to what I took from it...)
Maybe raiding orphiel foundry is a little bit overpowered. everytime i raid this structure i get up to 2000 material. with the periodical bonus from faction side quest (get also over 2000 material) it might be to much...

I tried again and it's wrong ^^ I think u gain the same reward everytime. I was confused by the yield information. So orphiel foundry is definitely overpowered I think.

I never used the transort order. I tried it out but there is no changes to the weekly income. :-/ but i remember that I read something about that in the forum...

Orphiel Foundry will indeed have lowered rewards when you raid it. We also agreed its a bit too strong atm.

I feel like a noob now after 172 gameplay hours in SGW, about 80 in Early Alpha...

1. Nope
2. Always tried to destroy them, so I have no clue what to do otherwise with them !?

This equals points 3 to 6

Are the structure raids different from the mission board quests?

Are you planning to add smaller scale mission board quest to raid enemy structures?

I tried boarding a structure during one of the mission board quests to go assault something or other and it caused the mission to bug. The structure became unkillable and I had to fail the mission by leaving the area.

That experience deterred any further attempts on my part to board any structures. I think I saw a thread reporting that as a bug, though.

Structure Raids are different from Freelance Mission Quests.
We aren't planning on adding Freelance Missions to raid enemy structures.
Boarding a structure during Freelance Missions, should no longer be possible after todays quickfix.

Yeah it was a bug, and should be fixed already, if you downloaded the new version.

1) Yes
2) Yes
3) Hard to tell tbh, I've had cargo a good few times for sure
4) I'm probably at the point where its negligable for me, though it would be rewarding if I was lower level
5) See 4 ;p
6) I've done several of every type except a prison, thats on my to-do list. For some reason I wasn't able to raid a gas collector (previous patch), I'll give that another go on this build to see if it was there is still any problem with that.

Sounds good. I'll give it a shot later. I might need to explore a bit more.

Is this geared towards boarding the random structures in enemy territory, like the junk reclaimers? I like that idea.

  • Do you know what Structure Raids are?
    Yes.
  • Have you ever raided a Structure?
    Yes.
  • What did you get from raiding a Structure?
Some materials, gas etc. Not much, but not everything should gives us tons of resources.
  • Were you satisfied with the reward?
Generally yes, except for the Prison one, that reward is pretty much useless (Considering that I got only t1 fleet ships from it).
  • Do you think raiding structures is worth your time?
Worth going around and raiding? Nah. Worth raiding when flying past them? Hell yeah. And that I like.
  • Which structures did you raid so far?
    Prisons and ore/gas/material production buildings.
